Sony HT-CT660 2.1 Sound Bar at TheGoodGuys for $318

30

As the title says, get it while stocks last. I ordered one myself. I believe in store pick up is available as well, but since the nearest one to me is 12km away and I'd have to wait till the weekend, I paid the extra $9 shipping. This is the cheapest I can find.

I tried going to DJ, JB and BL near my place to price match, but none of them has it in stock. Go figure, I guess they just couldn't price match. I tried a couple online stores as well, which I won't name, and none of them can match it at that price.

  • Doesn't seem that cheap to me (RRP is $429)

  • Am looking for a soundbar for the lounge room tele, does anyone know of a goody at a great price? is this one any good?

    • I've got this. Although the sound is better than the TV's, it didn't really made me go "wow" at all. After having it for the last 2 months, still not sure if it was worth the $360 I paid for them….

    • Check out the review here: http://www.avsforum.com/t/1487773/sony-ht-ct260-vs-ht-ct660-…

This compares the lower model 260 to this 660 model

Appliance Online has it in stock and does price match. They usually offer free delivery as well so worth giving them a go.

    • ahh… i didn't try these guys, i did try another popular online retailer which I won't name and they won't match it. If anyone manages to get appliancesonline to match, please do post it.

  • This was on special special for $199 with free delivery from the Sony site a few months back and I got it.

I like the depth of sound and it does improve our 55" Panasonic standard output.

Be aware the Bluetooth subwoofer conflicted with my Boxee and/or Sonos also on the 2.4ghz range - it dropped out quite a bit till I moved stuff around in my lounge.

That would be the lowest model HT-CT260H and not this one as this one is the mid level model. The offer you got is the one in the link below.

    • Yea, that's the lower end model which just falls behind, see the review I posted above in response to moneymoo which compares the two.

Also for those who signed up for the GG $50 cash back when spending over $250

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/138773

Brings the price down to $268

    • Thanks. You just reminded me of TGG Amex offer but then I went on to go read their terms and conditions. It might not work if you pay it online but if you buy it from the store then it should be okay as it says transactions at TGG in-store.

  • Design of this soundbar is poor. It's not slimline so mostly if it sits under your TV it will block the remote sensor. Best soundbar I suggest is lg451 or LG 751 best sound also beautiful design and so slim

    • eh? You mean the LG4530a and 5530a soundbars? Yes those are slim and nice, but also extra 100-200 more, different price range. The 3530a is the cheaper one but similar form factor as the Sony and really in the performance range of the sony htct260 which is about the same price, not the 660 mentioned here.

    • The soundbar has an IR Repeater. The remote sensor on my Panasonic Plasma sits quite low and most soundbars (including this one) will block it but once I activated the IR Repeater in the settings, it's worked flawlessly.

  • Any of these sound bars have a means of hooking up rear speakers for real 5.1 sound? I know there are two available in the US, one for 42" TVs and the other for 55" and larger TVs (Vizio), but with shipping costs, not economical.
