  • Thanks! Just on time !

Great to see a discount from Nespresso, but am not a fan of their forced spend method - "For packaging purposes capsules can only be ordered in multiples of 50."

Would be nice if there were more flexible on this…need to keep up with the competition IMO.

I would like to see their products in supermarkets or Target/BigW. I don't want to order online, and the few outlets they have are not accessible to me.

already got my supplies from CCD last week.

    • +1

Yes I got 2 sample packs and after 2 years am now a converted person.

      • How did you get the sample packs?

        • They are available on their website, they had a free postage offer last week.

        • what is CCD?

        • Can't find any free sample packs there. They still giving them out?

        • They were never free.

        • My bad. Sorry. I made assumptions of the word 'sample'.

          That explains things.

    • i got some last week too. They're really good!

      • Which ones in particular did you try that were really good?

  • Is the website cheaper than buying it from the shop?

    • same price

    • You're better off going to the store if it's convenient.

    Yawn!
coffee is way too overpriced for what you get. anything that is ground months before you drink it is not worth anywhere near as much as they charge IMO

    • +3

Have you tried it? It's as good as, if not better, than a lot of the coffee you pay $6 a cup for and at under $1 a pop I think it's definitely good value.

      • -1

It does taste delicious, but it doesn't have the same amount of caffeine in it, so that's a bit of a negative for me. I wouldn't say that it tastes better than the coffee I get from my local coffee guy.

I would never pay $6 for a cup of coffee! Where do you get your coffee from and pay that much?

        • -1

I agree with you, I've been sampling other flavours, you just don't get the kick, that a coffee shop coffee gives you.

          I've even bought refillable pods.

The best so far IMO is the Coffee Capsule Delight.

I also agree with the flavour problems, I'm also encountering it with the latest.

With the Nespresso my favourite was the Fortissio Lungo.

The $5 pods from Coles/Woolworths are average as well.

I know George Clooney doesn't come cheap.

      • It's not better, it's 3-5x more expensive than buying beans and grinding it (or even just buying grind).

I use beans at home and Nespresso at work, they are both great, but the fresh grind + choice of coffee I get at home is superior in taste. The convinience and cleanliness of the pods is much better at my workplace.

If you're not passionate about coffee then the pods would do just fine at home, they're miles ahead of instant, even if they are ground, vacuum sealed + frozen long before they're served. (At least they're not brewed frozen, broken and sealed long before serving.)

      • 1) If you are paying $6 for a cup of coffee you are getting stupidly overcharged, or, getting copious amounts of milk with it which ruins the flavor of the coffee anyway.
        2) It is cheaper, fresher and thus more delicious to buy beans and grind it yourself
        3) you get 5 grams of coffee in a Nespresso pod, a shot of coffee should have about 14 grams..

Nespresso whilst convenient, still tastes average for what it costs IMO

Nespresso whilst convenient, still tastes average for what it costs IMO

          convenience costs $.. simple..

          unless you also
          butcher your own meat
          make your own sausages
make your own pasta from flour you have just milled from grain and from eggs from your own chickens
          etc etc etc

the argument towards nespresso could be made to almost any non-base food product

          convenience costs $.. simple..

          No marketing cost $

There are alternative to the Nespresso pods, and a lot taste better IMO and the opinions of others. They are a lot cheaper.

I don't know why this is a special anyway, I've never paid for postage.

Nespresso makes very water down coffee, you just have to watch the shot change colour, the last few seconds are very weak.

Woolworths pods are less than half the price and the taste is comparable..Nespresso don't have a more superior product to many other coffee pod producers, they just have a brand name and people like George Clooney marketing their product.

bottom line is, for pre-ground, crappy coffee it is too expensive. convenient or not.

Just stocked up. Was due to make an order next week but the free shipping got me. :)

  • I only got my Nespresso last week from the Good Guys Ebay deal and tried out the starter pack they give. None were bad, some good, some very good but I can't remember which ones were the very good ones haha! Might have to give the store a visit to do some taste tests.

Anyway, what do you guys usually order?

Edit: I think my favs were the Arpeggio, Livanto & Fortissio

I have the same problem. They all come with italian names that mean nothing to me, and I can't tell what is what.

for the standard ones the biggest advertised difference is the strength. Kazaar is the strongest at 12, Cosi is the lowest at 6.

Any capsule that are red are decaf

Lungo capsules are the only ones suitable for the large cup button on the machine. All other pods are designed to be used with the small (espresso) button.

The pure origins are varying strengths from various parts of the world.

    • My personal fav is Rosabaya.

  • These guys charge a lot for pod dispensers or capsule holders.

    • its called a monopoly

  • I'm confused, it says to put in a membership number when signing up? I signed up on a different Nespresso site, what is the deal with this one? I want to buy the flat capsules not the little pods.

    • The flat pods are for the corporate machines/corporate site

      • Damn I get it now. Have to see if I can sign up when I get my membership number on that site. I pay $1 a pod at work but if I could bulk buy the same pods myself I can save on the daily coffee :)

        • Is the machine supplied by another colleague? If so I'd suggest you not to buy your own pods. 10-30 cents profit from a capsule and it may takes 1000 cups of coffee just to pay-off the cost of the machine, and I'm pretty sure he/she is the one do all the cleaning and maintaining for the machine everyday after people abused it.
If the machine is provided by the company, go ahead!

  • thanks..grabbed a delivery worth of apreggio

    • What are your thoughts on Dharkan?

  • Ordered yesterday afternoon, got it this morning. super fast delivery!

  • This beats going into the store. Went past one today - line up was out the door and around the corner! Have no idea what was going on, but waiting that long for pods is a joke!
