Need advice from fellas regarding an unresponsive eBay seller

The story goes like this:
I bid for an item and won it. After winning, I received a message from the seller that her paypal is not working and would like me to do direct transfer. I refused that by saying I do not do bank transfers and since her ad never mentioned that PayPal isn't working, I bid for that particular item. So I told her that I m happy to wait till her paypal issue is resolved and make payment once she has sorted this with paypal. Well, that was 1.5 months back. I have written some 5-6 times to her already about what happened to the paypal thing and even offered pickup (as I was visiting that city) but absolutely no response to her. Going to ebay and make a complaint seems a bit too harsh to me (if that's an option at all :))… The product was meant for my lil one, hence, I do want to just let it go.. So looking upto fellow ozbargainers here for some advice on how to deal with this…

Cheers

Make a compliant as a non performing seller & neg her if it lets you, she was probably a scammer when you didn't fall for it she's ignoring you. Then let it go, I'm sure there's other honest sellers selling similar stuff on eBay but don't let her cancel the transaction otherwise she will get a refund of her ebay fees.

This has scammer written all over it.

  • i agree 100% scammer. just let it go and move on.

  • Thanks guys…yeah, I thought so too. But she has sold few items on ebay after I won this particular item and has got great reviews too.. So that got me into thinking that maybe that person was having some genuine issues with paypal.. But nonetheless nothing explain 'no response' to any of my messages, let alone her informing me about resolution of paypal problem. :) am I being naive?

    • is it a one of a kind item? surely not?

      • Nah it's not :)

  • It's been too long. Let it go, they've moved on.

Don't forget to leave appropriate feedback.

    • Sounds like you won it crazy cheap and the seller doesnt want to let you have it. Is this the case?
If so, you cant really do anything other than neg her.

      • Yeah, it is cheap. But if u don't wanna sell it cheap, put a reserve price or make it buy it now only… Just vanishing after the sale looks really cheap, isn't it? :) i would definitely neg her.

    • Yeh just neg her but try to include a good description with it. If I see a neg on a seller and the description is "bad seller" I just assume the buyer was a moron.

      • Thanks.. I will surely..but my query again is what happens if the seller gives me a neg too as revenge. I have 100% positive and don't wanna spoil it for a cheapster..

I don't think sellers can neg buyers.

        • Cool.. Done :)
