Noob question…what do you use this label on?

    • +6

On walkie talkies that you throw down to the bottom of wells

Buy one and label everything in your house. Even your pets. And children. Go for it.

I've always wanted one of these, but put off by the tape refills. Anyone know how much they are for this model?

    • +1

I'm currently researching this as we speak (expect an edit soon) but having a look at similar models this seems to be fairly good (comparing to Brother).

My concern is similar to yours that the consumable will "out-cost" the actual product.

      • Officeworks search for "Dymo D1" shows 7m x 12mm tape refills from $37 to $43. Ouch!

  • It is close to $11 per roll for a plastic backed ones.

  • It uses D1 tape, they are notoriously expensive, just search for D1 at OW website to get an idea.

    • ahh thanks, alost shot out and got one as thats one of the things the mrs wants for her b'day

shame its so expensive, anyone else got a bargain on one of these that has tape reasonably priced?

    • is it expensive?
      it's nearly $40 for 7m.
      Others are $20 for 4m.

  • the refill for this newer model is expensive.

  • Does any one know how long the included tape (not refill) is?

    • 3M included

      • That makes it almost as cheap to buy another unit rather than buying the refills.
        $19 for 3m, = $38 for 6m.
As opposed to $37-$43 for 7m

It could still be a good buy, if you don't plan on buying refills down the track, just for a one off use. Average size label estimate = 7.5cm long. 3m ÷ 7.5 = ~40 labels. Maybe 50 at the most.

  • is there anybody get the cash back?
