  • On clearance in Adelaide stores also I got some the other day bargain

  • Be aware that these are total junk. I bought a few put them in and they blew one by one after a week or so of use.

I ended spending $20 on a decent globe and a year later it is still going strong.

This junk shouldn't be allowed to be sold.

    • Bunnings sell this brand of junk as well.

I thought it was the right time of year to be planting bulbs. Thanks, good reminder ;)

Hi Diddy50 I bought a couple if these, haven't used them yet. Are you suggesting Nelson brand is not good ?

    • Pretty much, each lasted a few days only. Bought a more expensive globe and had lasted over a year now.

Edit: I bought a decent led bulb instead.

I've used Nelson brand in the past and they did seem to blow more frequently than the Philips globes that replaced them.

The little greenies are a bargain.

The rest are just power hungry things that will cost you more than a decent LED bulb even after a year cycle. a 50w bulb used for 2 hours a day at 29c per kwh will cost $10.58 a year. Divide that by 8 for led.

  • Nelson brand is alright, but sometimes if the halogen bulb blow may due to power surge, mis handling or it may just be a bad batch, sometimes if the ceiling subject to vibration, the bulb will blow quicker.
