I've been eyeing the foam roller for a while.
Unfortunately the limited postage option ($24 or pickup) doesn't make it good value.
    Really good foam rollers too!

  • I've got a little issue with them at the moment. The website basically melted down and the website never returned an 'order confirmed' page after I submitted my order, nor did I get a confirmation email, nor were my account order details on the site updated.

So I ordered again. And this time the site worked as expected although it was pretty slow and it was throwing up all sorts of exceptions.

And surprise - there's two orders. That have shipped.

My experience with them in the past has been good. This one's soured the experience for me. You sell a bunch of stuff at solid discount, you should really make sure your site's up to it. Myer, anyone?

you didn't think to call them up to confirm if the first order went through?

      • And they didn't think to have some actual capacity on their website when they're dumping stock? The invoice numbers were six apart in sequence. That means that in 20 odd minutes, their website had processed 6 orders. That's how prepared they were.

But back to your question. I got crickets when I tried to call this morning. In retrospect do you think I might have done any better at 6pm on a Friday evening? And what could they tell me anyway, given it was clear the backend had pretty much shit itself.

I guess Youre saying I can't really assume anything. The commit phase on the transaction should only have been performed once an order confirmation page has been delivered. I'm not sure about payment gateway APIs but surely a solid payment API has a commit call just in case something like this happens?

If you take the classic offer acceptance scenario in this situation i got no acceptance.

Anyway, it's largely theoretical right now. In two days I can start my own bloody gym., unless iron edge do a mea culpa and refund my coin for the first order.

In other news, they didn't mess around. They picked and shipped pretty quickly.

Their website is always hopeless. Also my "locally manufactured kettlebells" were in boxes that said "Made in China". Must have been just the boxes that were made in China?

      • Ah, maybe not then.
Iron Edge emerged from the company Australian Kettlebells, which I believe manufactured them locally. They locally manufacture some barbells and other equipment, so I assumed kettlebells were locally manufactured too, my bad.

    • Just as an update. Iron edge got in contact are organising a refund for me, so big thumbs up from me.

      Credit to them. Thanks.

  • Anyone in sydney want to split shipping on anything, say a foam roller? I'm getting a pair of romaleos

    • possibly getting the romaleos as well, where are you located.
