2nd hand speaker that was perviously broken. No thanks

you forgot to add with no warranty eww

      • That's why I avoided the word "refurbished" and used 2nd hand….

        • +1

2nd hand has mandatory warranty too.

Seller has no choice, a warranty is included by law.

    • Hi Ahan,

These speakers were factory seconds. They had minor faults at the time at the time of manufacture and have been restored to pretty much brand new.

I can say that I personally have taken one for myself and absolutely love it.

seems a bit expensive for a refurb especially with NO warranty at all… on ebay they go for ~$150 brand new

Minor faults, pretty much brand new…why not offer some kind of warranty then?

        Hi JetLi,

        That's not a bad idea.

        Thanks for the suggestion.

No worries, refurbished electronics with no warranty, most won't touch that.

  • Hey Rep, do you guys sell the Bose SoundLink Mini (Bluetooth) Speaker? Looking at buying a few as presents!

    • Hi PLA74,

Unfortunately, we only have the JAMBOX, Plantronics products and ZAGG Keyboards.

We are looking to broaden our range shortly, however are finding out how the Australian market takes to refurbished products before we do.

Pretty sure you can't sell a product in Australia, refurbished or not, without a warranty.

    • +3

Pretty sure youre right. Even 2nd hand goods come with warranties under new Australian Consumer Laws. Refurbished, will be close to the standards required of Brand New.

  • +2

Rep has completely avoided the warrenty questions stating "its not a bad idea" well how about you do it as its law and then I'll remove my neg. 20% off for 2nd hand goods doesnt get my juices flowing sorry.

Also be aware that this product has a known issue with the usb port detaching… buyer beware.

    Massive forum post at http://forums.jawbone.com/t5/Archive-2012/Jambox-USB-plug-pr…

  • Refurbished on eBay seem to be about $80 delivered so this is expensive and no warranty.

  • No warranty is illegal and completely unacceptable.
Rep claims these are pretty much brand new, but new products have warranty. Misleading and illegal behaviour by this store.
    This is expensive for refurbished
This is close to new pricing

  • Info about Warranties on Fair Trading

Warranties are separate from the automatic consumer guarantees that apply to many products and services you buy. A warranty is a voluntary promise offered by the person or business who sold the product or service to you. Once you buy the product or service, the promise becomes a right that can be enforced under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

It appears warranties is not mandatory

    • "Warranties are separate from the automatic consumer guarantees "

I think you'll find that "automatic consumer guarantees" cover the right to be able to return a faulty product if it fails within the expected life span. This is one of the reasons why Apple will still replace an iPhone if it is older than the 12 months "official" warranty, because the expected life span of a phone or similar device is 2 years.

It's all beside the point, even with a full warranty, this is a terrible deal on a refurbished item.
