  • How is this compared to
Gorilla 1.8-3.2m Aluminium Dual Purpose Ladder $169 @ bunning?

    • Go with the gorilla. I'm a tradie and have had one of those for around five years now and it never let's me down as a trestle or ladder. Gorilla has no plank at that price though.

  • are these things sturdy? i want to paint the exterior of my house. my gutters are 4.0m above the ground. i suppose sitting on a plank gives me an extra 0.9m from waist to head.

  • +1

its sturdy (assuming the ground is level for the feet), but when u use it as a platform, its not as high as u think, i have 4m high gutters as well and i struggle to reach the gutters when in the double leaning mode. With the platform it just not possible, unless ur like 2-3m tall…

I have one of these from the last sale..
Currently using it for indoor painting and it works well..

Highest it has been is as a platform on the third rung and it works well and is stable

    • Can the platform be mounted on the 4th or 5th rung? The image shows it's mounted on the third. Is it the max height?

      • I don't see why not…
5th May be pushing it but 4th should be doable…

    • I have no idea what the measurements mean…..So since I have 3.1m ceilings would it be effective to use for painting inside?

  • are each of the ladders ~3m long, or have they added part of a person's torso to calculate the "maximum working height"?

    • The ladders are each about 1.7m high

      • thanks. it sounds a bit short for my needs.

    • mainly that, on top of the purchase price, it costs $220 to ship to australia

      • thanks mattgal, but I was just thinking of the features…not the price ;)

  • After calling every store in the ACT looking for 1.5m Gorilla platform ladder without any luck (two hardware stores were closed), my buddy told me about the Aldi ladder. I had a skip bin arriving so I wanted to start work.

Not being any kind of ladder expert this did the job perfectly. It's stable and feels strong enough. Small and light enough to move around and fit into the shed. The extra height would of been a bonus, although I think I bought a better ladder that I can use more than what I was originally going to purchase.
