Ryobi One+ 18V 3 Piece Kit Reduced to $139 (Was $249), Lamp Shade $1.26 (Was $24.90) @ Bunnings

360

I went to grab another Ryobi bargain thanks to Unity 1 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/141055
I found they have also reduced this Ryobi 3 pack with a Drill, Torch, Radio, 2 (1.4Ah)batteries, tool box and charger to $139 (and it scanned at $139). I believe these kits are being discounted as these are the original lithium batteries and new batteries now have a "fuel guage" (these don't have a guage).

Considering the drill by itself with 1.3Ah batteries is $179, this looks like a great deal.

Also found on sale was this lamp shade $1.26 was $24.90… http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/53368/22335/bun_lamp.jp…

Both items in stock at Bunnings Northland, Vic.
I assume the Ryobi pack deal is while stocks last.
The lamp shade was found on the discount rack at the back of the store (near lighting)heaps of stock.

  • Are Bunnings just doing incredible specials on this, or are they running all the stock out for something new?

    • +3

I think it is just clearing out old kits with old batteries.
Most of the New Kits have one 4Ah battery and one 1.5Ah battery both with "fuel gauge".

      Like this…. http://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-18v-cordless-compact-dr…

      • This deal definitely seems better than the newer drill kit, but on the other hand I'd probably never use the radio/torch so maybe I'll wait for something else.

      • +1

Oh excellent, thanks for clearing that up.

  • I can almost understand the torch, but why would they bundle a radio into this kit? o.O

Manufacturer link looks to be this one, if it helps:
    http://www.ryobi.com.au/Products/PowerTools/ONEplus/Kits/Com…

    • +1

I actually have the radio from an old kit and it is great. Also has Aux in to hook up an iphone or iPod etc. Pretty good sound from just one speaker. (just wish it had a USB charger)

Actually, here is a link to the kit I purchased… http://www.ryobi.com.au/Discontinued/Kits/RCK18042
If you can find one hiding in your Bunnings it was $299 and was cleared out for $149. (possibly sold out)
The inflator has been great for blowing up pool toys.

    • Because tradesmen can't seem to function without their life-support connected - a radio creating noise pollution.

  • They also have the drill and multi tool for $199

    http://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-18v-3pce-kit-drill-mult…

    • +2

Yes, they do have this…. http://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-18v-3pce-kit-drill-mult…

However if you buy this deal and the last deal together $139 + $99 = $238 you will get more for your money.
So you will get this Ryobi 3 pack with a Drill, Torch, Radio, 2 (1.4Ah)batteries, tool box and charger plus the full multitool, charger, 2 (1.3Ah) batteries, Storage bag and 20 piece accessory set https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/141055.

I think the extra charger, 2 batteries, toolbox and the 20 piece kit is well worth the extra $39.

      • True. I'm thinking of the people that are not able to get both your deal and my deal separately.

        • True, the the drill and multi tool for $199 is still a good deal.

They definitely had all kits in stock at Bunnings Northland.

    hey all,

I'm assuming this is a pretty good drill for around the house type stuff? It could handle building a climbing frame? Looking for a new drill as my current one is crud.

    • +1

      Can handle it easy.

    • +1

Yep, great drill for the price and 18 volts has heaps of power. will handle nearly everything you throw at it. Just not the right drill to be drilling into bricks, but I would sugget a battery drill if you are going to do that.

plus you can use the battery and charger to power other tools later.

      • +3

Did you mean hammer drill for bricks?

        • +1

Yes. This drill will be good for all wooden jobs. Not good for hammer drilling bricks (this is not a hammer drill).

    • If you're using around the house, do yourself a favour and buy a 240V drill. Cordless is only great until the battery or charger dies.

      • Actually should be little issue with a Lithium battery. Plus, Ryobi sell extra batteries and chargers if needed. Battery drill really are a lot more handy.

Though, i would suggest you need both. But for 240V I would upgrade to a hammer drill.

Me: I think I need it
Brain: You've never used a power tool in your life! What makes you think that you'll actually use it?
Me: Its on Ozbargain! Don't ask questions, just give me your credit card

    • +4

Your brain has its own credit card?

      • His brain takes all the credit…

  • I think I'm going to have a look at bunnings today seeing as the multitool kit was 99.

    • No luck for me.

Villa wood didn't have any what so ever.

  • +2

Remember guys if they don't have stock get the staff to order them in from another store. Most of them are helpful but the odd one is too lazy to call the other store to order it.

  • +2

Yeeehaw! Now I can power-build PC's with great recklessness!

    • +1

Do you use a electric screwdriver when building PCs?

      • +2

with an extended philips driver… only way to roll.

      • +2

no, I was joking, hence the word recklessness.

Only ever use a hand tool. At least that's what SHE said.

  • +2

anyone in perth northern suburbs want just the drill, batteries and charger? I'd love just the torch and radio skins. Make me an offer and we can split it.

    • +2

I'd be interested mate…can't work out how to PM you so can you drop me a line!

      • +1

        PMd you.
        (I think)

  • Don't waste your time with Box Hill. Dodgy buggers priced it at $199 (down from $299)

  • +1

Booooooooo!!! I should have waited! I bought the drill at 89 bucks.

I could have got all of these for 50 bucks more, extra battery, torch, radio and drill bits……. ahhh such heart break.

    • +1

Buy the second kit and sell the drill skin to recoup some lost coin so you would have a few extra batteries which is always good.

  • Rang both Midland & Belmont stores. Doesn't look like they have any on clearance :-(

  • No stock at North Geelong & Waurn Ponds (VIC)

  • Thanks OP. Cannot find the lamp shade at nearby Bunnings, was looking forward to a couple of them.

  • +1

torch rocks, comes in handy just keep in house

    +1 good for lights out
+1 for flattening the battery before recharge
+1 good for lighting behind the TV, cupboards and in the shed

Just keep handy and i bet you will use it, just don't lock in the shed where your too lazy to go find it!

  • +1

Does the drill have a 13mm chuck?

edit - I just clicked the link and it says it does.

  • I already have the 4 Ah battery with fuel gauge, which powers my fabulous reciprocating saw. Is there anything in this offer if you don't need the battery?

    • If you don't want any spare batteries, they seem to sell well on ebay. Could get some cheap gear.

  • My husband and I have systematically been buying our way through the whole range!!!! We already have the drill and the hammer drill, whipper snipper, sander, multitool, the saw, the torch and dustbuster (presents from family) and our most recent purchase — the nail gun. We have both found the tools to be absolutely fantastic — they're fairly gutsy and easy to use. They feel good in the hand too and have built-in LCD lights. We found the drill bits, etc. that came in a kit to be fairly useless — made from metal that is way too soft. This is probably the only fault we have found so far. We have two of the standard batteries but I am thinking of buying one of the bigger ones with built in gauge. At the advertised prices, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

    • The new 4Ah batteries are great, you will really notice a difference.
I can also personally recommend the Caulking Gun. I only wish they had it years ago.

      • I have a 4Ah and 1.4Ah and they work really well.

I use both batteries but I can say the 4 Amp one last for ages in the dust buster also makes it sit upright and not roll around.

The blower is the one skin that blew me away pun intended, it can actually do the job well and a 20m drive way can be done with 1 1.4Ah battery. Or a lazy stroll with the 4 Amp one.

  • Went to bunnings Maddington WA today and couldnt find any :/
