Hey guys, this is the cheapest I've seen this oil. It's pretty good for cleaning out all built up the crap from your engine! I recommend it!

      I'd rate this higher than the Magnatec. Depends on your car and engine mileage. If you've got an older car with high KM's on the clock, a higher viscosity oil would work beter.

      If its a newer, low mileage engine then the HX7 would be more suitable.

      Personally I don't like the name Magnatec, as it reminds me of the POS Mitsushiti.

        I ran it in an older Holden 202 blue motor and it rattled like all hell.
        Personally I'd be looking into a 20W-50 or thicker again like Penrite HPR30 20W-60! Especially in an older iron block motor!

          I agree on the higher viscosity for older engines. We're only discussing the difference between the two here though.

          Personally, I use Shell Helix Ultra in both my cars, as the engines require the better lubricant.

          I know there's a lot more to them than just the weight (viscosity), but these are both 10w-40!

          Got mixed up looking up the previous post, and though it was 15-40. In that case my disdain for any reminder of a Manga wins out. :)

          Buy the HX7 all those that require a decent oil. :)

          count me in….. i HATE castrol oils. they have always sludged up motors and… well… just not good oil.

          I use Gulf 20W50 for my hyndai excel x2. Do you suggest I can use Penrite HPR 20W60 instead??

          gulf western oil burned up in the work bus. when it was time to drop the sump, it was bone dry.

          the upside was that there was no used oil to dispose of.

    OP, Can I ask what type of car/engine you've run it in? And not to be rude… but how do you know that It's pretty good for cleaning out all built up the crap from your engine! unless you've torn the motor down after prolonged use?

      It has a significant synthetic component. Read up a little on the differences between synthetic and mineral based oils.

      If you have an old engine and want to plug the leaks use something like Magnatec. If you have a new engine and want to keep the oil passages clear and have peak performance use something like HX7 or a full synthetic oil.

      actually "cleaning out old crap" is really bad for motors. all that grime needs to head somewhere and usually new motors arent already sludgy.

      what ends up happening is all the built up crap gets sent through your bearings (because its already past the oil filter) and hammers the hell out of them causing major problems soon after.
