  • great find, is this for ALL books?

    • No restrictions listed in the terms and conditions.

I think it just applies a 10% discount to your cart before you finalise the transaction, no limts on what is in the cart. I haven't had a chance to test it yet so not sure, maybe someone else can try it out.

  • My credit card is going to hate me…..

Great deal, thanks for sharing. My last order from this site took only 8 days to arrive!

  • Yea it truly is amazing how quickly they can get books delivered given that its coming from the UK and its free!

+ve from me. I'll share my experience of BookDepository.

Last time BookDepository had a 10% discount, I splurged.

    • Cheapest price around according to Booko, counting the best discounts I could find for Borders, BWB, etc. I checked individually for each book I wanted.
    • Free shipping.
    • Strong AUD to GBP exchange.
    • On top of that, a 10% discount.

    I couldn't resist. I bought 39 new paperbacks:

    • 18 Feist.
    • 7 Rowling.
    • 6 Hobb.
    • 6 Asimov.

Total ~AUD$440, average $11 per book. Much cheaper than anywhere else I could find.

Order placed 25/05/09. Most arrived by 03/06/09; just over a week. Five books were wrong! I emailed them and, after a few replies and some scanning, replacements were confirmed 13/06/09 and received 25/06/09. As of now, I am only waiting for one more pre-ordered book to complete the order.

TLDR: Excellent prices. Good service. Decent delivery time. AAA+++ WILL BUY AGAIN. ;)

  • I posted this up last sale - glad this is back :)

Best book site ever :D +ve

  • yep, book depository is amazing.

  • If I'm not mistaken until end of month we can make multiple transactions, and apply the 10% discount each time? Hmm, time to make a list of books to buy :)

  • where in gods name do u type that code? cant find the box for it.

    • Go to the shopping cart and there is a text box there to enter the code

      • I dont see it.

Maybe a screen shot of this box would help….

Are you using firefox? is it only in IE? any specific http link?

I keep adding stuff and going to checkout but I dont see any boxes and it doesnt work with paypal.

        • +1

Are you using the link to start shopping? You need to use their link in order to have the coupon code box available on checkout.
Don't worry, you're not the only one who didn't realize :)

        • +1

Yeh click on the screenshot in this thread to get directed to the promotion part of book depository, then click on "continue shopping". After that your checkout should have the part to enter the code.

          • @KingLouis: Thanks KL and Zhen.

All good now :) Had to click on the Screenshot right in the top corner.

Anybody read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies ? Is it as good as they say?

            • @evangelion: Its a number one best seller, but you either love it or hate it. I love Zombies, I liked Pride and Prejudice, I hated this book. It tried to be different but it just didn't work for me.

  • I wouldn't be so quick to claim it's the cheapest all the time… I went looking for the Bourne Sanction by Robert Ludlum and from Book Depository it was about 12 pounds or close to $25 after the 10% off. Borders has it for $19.95 before any vouchers…

    • I hope you're aware that mass market stuff like this comes out in umpteen different editions in paperback let alone in hardback. A quick check on bookdepository.co.uk shows me SEVEN different editions of this book in stock of which only the version published by Orion is GBP 13.49. The one published by Grand Central this year is listed at only GBP 5.57. Sure beats 19.95!

      • Yes, I am well aware, but look at the publish/release dates. Only one of them, the GBP 13.49 one, is available. The GBP 5.57 one is not out for months.

  • Ah my apologies, must have been going a bit crazy late last night when I posted. I was actually trying to refer to the newest book, the Bourne DECEPTION, not the Bourne Sanction. Sorry my bad.

For some reason when I was searching yesterday, only the hardback was showing as available at 13.49 GBP (http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/book/9781409101611/Robert-Lu…).

But now there appears to be the paperback at 10.37 GBP (http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/book/9781409101628/Robert-Lu…) which is approx $21-22 AUD.

I guess once you less the 10% it IS slightly cheaper than Borders, but by a few cents only.

The other paperback copies at 5.24 GBP and 8.24 GBP still have 214 and 119 days to release respectively.

    • That's one book, out of a whole bookstore; and if it's cheaper at Borders, buy it at Borders.

I've bought at least a dozen books through Book Depository, and they've all been cheaper (and often delivered faster) than local book stores and Amazon.com.

  • Great deal, thanks. Just got a WebSphere book, even cheaper than Amazon US, and I was able to use paypal! :-)
