Cheaper at eglobal including shipping. Works out to $672 shipped. http://www.eglobaldigitalcameras.com.au/nikon-d5200-twin-kit…

    • Damn that's an awesome price! I wonder if I can change my whole post to this. Hmm no I cannot, oh well!

      • That's their normal price too, add in coupon code 'wb10' or 'CHK10' for an extra $10 off too!. I'm actually looking at buying the D5100 at the moment, is the D5200 good enough to justify an $80 increase in price?

        • D5200 is 24MP vs D5100's 16MP - better for large prints, but only useful if you couple it with a good lens
D5200 can do 1080i @ 60fps, which can be useful for slow motion playback

I think those are the two main buying points.

          Other things:
          - (supposedly much) better AF - good for action shots
          - slightly better low light performance - a faster lens would provide the same benefit (albeit at much higher cost)

So I guess it depends on how much of an enthusiast you are!

I bought the D5100 because at the time the D5200 was at least $200 more, and I couldn't justify that difference for my uses.

        • Which lens do you think would be good for Landscape shots if I only buy D5200 body and separate lens?
          or say an all-rounder lens?

        • Hmm true thanks for the heads up. Sounds to me like it's worth the extra 80

  • That's an awesome price for an awesome camera. Wish I had saved up :(

  • Does it still make sense to buy these large DSLRs instead of the newer generation mirrorless one?
From the reviews, looks like the mirrorless ones are as good if not better than these older design ones…

    • Depends on your needs and purposes. Focus speed on mirrorless still need a little improving but overall they are quite good now. This kit is great value and great for anyone wanting to get into photography but Personally for I'm holding out for a nice OM-D deal.
