Lenovo Ideatab S6000 Tablet 10.1 Inch Wi-Fi 16GB $288 at JB Hi-Fi

10

Got an email from JB about this.

I think it's a decent price for a 10.1 inch Android tablet, probably closest competitor to Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1.

I know its resolution is 1200 x 800 display though and its processor and RAM aren't that up to date so each to their own. Yes, I know it's Lenovo also which a lot of people hate from their 'deal' last year.

Enjoy!

Edit: Normal price with delivery from Lenovo

  • 1G RAM is really not enough for android pads.

    • Especially if you upgrade it to the newest OS versions, it gets worse with each increase.

      • This is only true up to 4.4 KitKat.

"Google announced Android 4.4 KitKat on 3 September 2013.[121] The release had long been expected by technology bloggers to be numbered 5.0 and called "Key Lime Pie".[122] KitKat debuted on Google's Nexus 5 on 31 October 2013, and has been optimised to run on a greater range of devices than earlier Android versions, having 512 MB of RAM as a recommended minimum; those improvements were known as "Project Svelte" internally at Google.[123] The required minimum amount of RAM available to Android is 340 MB, and all devices with less than 512 MB of RAM must report themselves as "low RAM" devices."

However, Lenovo states that it runs 4.2.

  • Picked this up from JB for this price just before Christmas. That was the stickered price at the time. (Father in law wanted a 10" tablet for under $300, this seemed to be the best at the time. Couldn't convince him to spend more or get a beefier tablet with a smaller screen).

    • was it worth it do you think?

      • Haven't spent a whole lot of time with it, as it's my mother-in-laws (was a Christmas gift), but in the little time I've spent with it, it seemed snappy enough. Personally I prefer a higher res / lower dpi screen over a larger screen with lower res though.

It's been this price for many months.
It's the same price from Lenovo shop.

Sorry Op, but no bargain here. Next month when the new models come out,
they'll drop the rpice to make it a bargain.

  • I bought two Lenovo Thinkpa tablets, one for myself + one for the MIL. Mine broke twice whilst in warranty plus again just after. My MIL's broke just after the warranty ran out. As a result, I won't ever buy Lenovo again.
