[Expired] Invitation to participate in Market Research: Freebie Product to test

Hi Ozbargainers:

I first posted a while back to discuss the option of whether it would be ok to offer a product as a freebie for market research purposes, and the overwhelming response was that it would be ok.

I have outlined the offer in more detail here:

Kleen-tex Australia is launching a new product into the Australian Market and we need everyday people like you to test it.

Essentially the offer is this:

  • You will get to keep one of our new wash+dry mats in return for answering Market research questions.
  • The market research will be a total of 3 Surveys, spaced across 6 months.
  • The first survey is longest (about 70 questions), Its to make sure you are committed, the other 2 will be 5-10 questions long.
  • You must first register to participate: Register Here
  • You will then be sent an email with a link to commence the survey.
  • Upon completion of the survey, an email will be sent to me, with your name and email address (the details you provided to initially register)
  • I will then email you and ask for your mailing details so we can post you a mat to try.

Note: This part of the process is manual - so allow me a day to respond but it should be shorter, If you have any questions regarding the survey you can contact me here: [email protected]

We use a token based survey system (Limesurvey for any tech minded people) any and all information provided within the survey will remain anonymous (Our privacy policy is outlined in full on the start page of our survey

NOTE: THERE IS A LIMIT OF 200 Mats for this offer.

About the product:

The new wash+dry collection places special emphasis on creative design combined with functionality and high requirements on comfort. With over 300 appealing and vivid designs, the entire collection is made of easy care, high quality nitrile rubber on the back, providing secure and non slip characteristics.

The pile consists of 100 % premium nylon with very high dirt absorption and simple cleaning. All floor mats can be machine washed at 40 degrees. They can be tumble dried and placed on underfloor heating. The collection is manufactured exclusively by Kleen-tex in the EU and SE Asia and has 5 year manufacturer's warranty.

        He means its likely to be a copyright infringement… Kleen-tex arguably sounds too much like Kleenex/ could confuse consumers?

          Our parent company has been operating across the world for about 40 years, but we are relatively unknown to the Australian market.

          Actually it wasnt until after i originally responded to this post that i saw that the "t" was missing and realised what was actually being said :-)

          Trademarks are per category.
          ie. Just because Apple has a trademark in technology I can still call my fruit shop Apple too.

    Appreciate the enthusiasm from everyone,

    There are approx 150 spots still available.

    I have sent an email to all people recorded as having completed the survey to collect the delivery details.

    Took me longer than 10 min to do the survey but I gave quite detailed responses. Looks like a good product actually. Rep, I'm interested to know how much these will retail for?

    Not trying to be pessimistic, but you're asking members of a forum where savings is essential.

    Your response rate after the first survey will probably be very low, there is no more incentive to give you anymore feedback after the first survey.

      We have considered the possibility where no-one will provide additional feedback once the mat has been received, but we also have faith in people, so you have to take the good with the bad.

        haha…if it doesn't yield a lot of responses, try giving a little incentive to complete second and third surveys. Something simple, like a plain t shirt with your brand name across the brand. We do anything for freebies :)

        All I am saying is that there will be portions of users who will not provide further feedbacks.

        If you look around, SOME users in some other posts claim freebies using fake emails, contact details etc. You think if those people claim this product, they will be providing feedbacks? Hell no.

        As for speaking for myself, I don't try to claim this product, as I have no need for it.

    I will definitely be giving the additional feedback, as I am enthusiastic about the product. Is it possible to request a mat in a neutral tone? I didn't see anywhere where you could select a preference.

    "
    Error
    This survey is no longer available.

    I guess this one is over

    Has anyone actually received one of these yet?

    I completed my survey on 11th of May. Received an confirmation email and then another email asking for my address. I've provided my address.

    Now it's 15th of June, no sign of mat.

    I recieved mine today, a blue / ship type one, pretty decent product. Solid construction, no loose material. Large non slip rubber on the under side which i hope doesnt mark the carpet below or tiles depending on where its left. Only a slight smell of rubber. All in all good product on first inspection :) thanks

        Received the mat today. It's looks nice and appears to be of a good construction.

        Based on my luck, if I get it I am sure everyone will get the mat at some point :p

        Also the deleviry alone is $10. So a big thanks to the company.

    Just got this email:

    First thanks for your patience waiting for delivery of the wash+dry mat as part of our survey.

    We had a few issues getting stock into Australia, however this is resolved in full, with some orders sent out a few weeks ago, and the remainder sent this week.

    Each item was sent using Australia Post Registered Mail. This tracking number will allow you to check if the item is still in transit or at a Post office waiting collection.

    I will be posting you another email with your delivery tracking number shortly.

    Thanks HDWD, received mine and you sure seem to be revolutionizing the drab door mats, very colourful & versatile….now if only there was a way to get it back from our little one who is using it at the entrance to her room.

    Please let me know when they go on sale, as I would be interested in purchasing.
