    Used 3 times, Trusted.

:) uses up all your referrals for you.

    • sounds risky if you're actually using your account for backing up important stuff

      • They dont actually need your password. Just need your referral link.

        • -1

          well der

abusing the affiliate system would get you banned anywhere else on the internet, dont see why dropbox would be any different.

          cheers for negs you weirdos

    • +2

Wow - a pretty easy way to make money. He just creates multiple email addresses and uses them. Just a matter of uninstalling and reinstalling the app each time

      • Uninstalling doesn't work.

Dropbox knows it's the same computer after a reinstall because it records something unique and permanent about your computer to identify it each time - I vaguely recall it's the MAC address of a comms device.

But there are ways around this also.

        • I would like to know as ive changed ip and gmail didn't work still recognizes it.

        • Summary: Change the MAC address of an operating system hosted in Oracle VM VirtualBox.

Plenty of step-by-step articles on how to do this here:

          http://www.google.com.au/search?q=dropbox+mac+address+virtua…

        • After reading that, I would happily pay $5 to anyone to do it instead of all that messing around.

        • +1

Absolutely… if you're doing it from scratch.

But worth it if you already have VirtualBox set up, as many people do, and you know how to use a decent disposable email service - then it's ~40 seconds work per address. Far less effort than installing and uninstalling Dropbox multiple times had that worked

I know a guy in Vietnam who running a similar business at the moment. He hires a bunch of high school kids - most of them disabled, paying them like $2 to $3 per hour and get them to just sign up for free email and do this kind of referral stuff. He is doing quite well and helping the kids too, amazing business - more like a charity

      • +22

amazing business - more like a charity

Some might call it child labour … Potato, tomato….

        • +9

depends on the circumstances doesn't it? would you rather have a kid in a third world country behind a computer getting paid what they consider alot of money or resorting to crime and violence

        • +4

          Sure.. But;

          #1 - WHOOOSH.
          #2 - It's still not a charity.

        • +4

So now we have disabled kids committing violence and crime…what is this world coming to.

        • +1

so in your country the kids are either helping a fraud / scam scheme or they will participate street crime ?

    • Did you use it thrice on the same account, or on three different accounts?

    • I see you get 16gb for a free account and 32gb for a pro account using the dudes service. Would the smart thing be to upgrade to pro for a month and get the 32gb - then downgrade to a free account again?

Perhaps it would revert back to the 16gb?

      • +2

Thanks for the tip, guess we will find out as I just upgraded for the month.

        • +1

Please keep us informed. I'm so curious!

        • The referrals are coming through now at 1GB each. Ultimately we will have to wait for my month of Pro to finish, but I suspect it will revert to 500MB per referral.
I say this because the one referral I already had from 2 years ago has changed from 500MB to 1GB as well. If this can change, I can see that it can change back too.
Now to double check if my monthly is on auto renew.

        • OK I tried it.

I acquired the extra 32GB from referrals to bring me to 186.75GB in total (that's 100GB for going pro, 50GB from an earlier Samsung deal which expires in around a month and 4.75GB from other freebie offers along the way).

I waited a few days and then downgraded back to a free account and unfortunately I only kept 16GB of my referral space bring me back to a total of 70.75GB

Never mind - for $5 USD it was worth the risk.

        • Likewise. I just set my account to downgrade, they say I will go from 41.85 GB free space to 27.85 GB free.
          It was worth a try.

    • +1

I've also used the same imgigz vendor on three separate Dropbox accounts. Nothing dodgy about it, and you needn't worry about security - the only thing you give the imgigz vendor is your Dropbox referral link. They setup 32 referral signups using your referral link and in less than 24 hours you have another 16GB of space. If you do this USD5 imgigz trick plus all the other available freebies (excluding device purchases) you will end up with 22.88GB lifetime space

      • Yep, confirmed it worked well for me. Ordered Friday, space appeared on Monday.
        $5 well spent!

    • Could just do it yourself

      • +2

IP address limited. and Mac Address too.

He probably has a vb script or some Macro+dymanic ip+vm doing it for him.
        (Guessing)

    • Nice find

    • Gave this guy a go on my brothers account, paid up. est date has passed and nothing.

He has re-listed same deal for $7 instead of $5.

      http://www.imgigz.com/Advertising/3766/expand-your-dropbox-a…

Good work Shadow131 for recommending this scammer :)

      • What was your estimated completed date? Mine is May 11th, which is today in the US.
It shows 6 orders are in progress. They do not get paid until it is completed.

        • Mine was the 10th, so I'd assume I've been robbed.. only $5 but can buy a lot on ozb!

        • I think that is an automated response, the feedback is resoundingly positive. Still shows 6 in queue, if nothing after a week, that is when I would be starting to feel as being ripped off. But yes, if it was more than a throw away $5 (OZb blasphemy that statement) then I would be concerned.

        • Storyteller, please keep us informed tomorrow if it goes through or not. Like I said above I've used this imgigz vendor three times and all is well.

the $7 offer (for the same service by the dame vendor) has been there for 2 years - I guess some people are happy paying the extra. I've no idea why the vendor has two imgigz listings for the same service at different prices. Much like ebay

        • So he does, and 97 outstanding orders on the $5 one I used.

        • Update: Both offers have now being removed

          $5: http://www.imgigz.com/Programming/3635/expand-your-Dropbox-a…

          $7: http://www.imgigz.com/Advertising/3766/expand-your-dropbox-a…

Clicking on my order which is now marked as COMPLETED, shows two things.
1: The delivery date has been changed from 11/5/14 to 23/5/14.
2: This message appears below it “YOUR ORDER IS READY!
Hi HappySlappyHero, I have completed expanding one of your Dropbox accounts. Thank you very much for your business. If you like my work, please tell your friends about it and help spread the word! Thanks :)"

I checked DB, and no, I don’t have more space.
So either they have marked as completed yet are still doing all 103 jobs, so it hasn’t really happened, or they have pissed off with our money.

          I am contacting them now.

As I submitted my contact, I received an email confirm the completion too.

          Edit: Answered quickly
"Message: Yes I am already aware of this mistake and I am working on fixing it. This affected all orders between 3647 and 3704. I mistakingly thought my scripts expanded all of the orders, but they didn't even run! After class tomorrow I will work on expanding your account along with everyone else's that didn't receive space. I am very sorry for this mistake. Please wait 24 hours. "

        • He did mine 28GB now!

      • +3

I trust this vendor. I think it just overwhelmed with the order

        • +1

Not overwhelmed, as per their reply, the script didn't run.
Seems like it is not a lot of work for them, just collect the referral links, and run the required script.
Good for him. I looked over the site (should have done before hand) and three are quite a few offering this service or similar for Drop Box.
Their quick and no doubt honest reply was positive.

        • Not sure but last time i tried with one of them they asked for my PW. NOPE NOPE NOOOPE

        • That’s the problem with people these days, just not trusting enough. What could possibly go wrong with giving a stranger on the internet your DB log in details?

Jokes aside, I now have a ton of email listed under my Earn More Space section, with “Waiting for Install” status against them. So it is happening.

        • +1

The referral confirmation emails have been coming through, so it is happening.

41.85 GB earned (all up for me now)

        • Thanks for keeping us updated snuke. Much appreciated.

    • I'm willing to give this a go. Cheers shadow131
EDIT: 8GB -> 22GB in 10 minutes. That guy works fast.

    • Trying it now…
edit: The referrals have started coming in after 10 minutes. This guy works fast. They only needed the Dropbox referral link. All very easy.

    • worked like a charm… paid for this at night … his website showed that work will be done in two weeks time. In the morning my account had +16gb storage. Very quick service for me.

      my dropbox is now 22gb > 2gb free + 3GB Carousel + 1GB Mailbox + 16GB referrals from above link.

NOTE: for both Carousel and Mailbox, all i did was install the apps via googleplay, linked my dropbox account. Within few minutes got message on desktop that dropbox space increased. Then I uninstalled the apps.

  • Anyone else get this error?

"Couldn't link to your Dropbox account. Please make sure you have a network connection."

    Carousel works, but not this.

Excellent, more space for storing my Condoleezza Rice photo collection.

I quite like this "What you talkin' 'bout Willis" pose.

  • Have they patched the heartbleed vulnerability yet?

  • Thanks
    Now I have 6GB ;)

  • How do the referrals work?

  • Got this in Stay smart email. Web vulnerability:
    https://blog.dropbox.com/2014/05/web-vulnerability-affecting…

  • Thanks. Won't say no to another gb of free space.

  • Thanks op.

30.3 GB of 56.25 GB used

    Sweeeet!

  • I have 30 gigs anyway for some reason, I have a HTC one though.

      Duplicates

Don't post duplicates (deals that are already on the site). Please search OzBargain before posting.

      Exceptions:

The original deal is older than one month, and was expired or sold out between then and now.
The original deal is active but older than 6 months.
The duplicate gains an excessive amount of positive votes (50+) and reaches the front page.
The original deal is a list of multiple items and the item is not contained in the title of the original deal.

      8 months > 6 months.

  • So which provides gives the biggest FREE cloud storage? Dropbox gdrive box etc?

    • The chinese net giants provides 1TB+

      • ah yes, but still no english apps

        • Try mega.co.nz, they give 50gb space free and end to end encryption.

        • +1

thanks i have box 50gb already.

i heard there is one provider will keep increasing capacity when we upload more? like initially 10GB then when we upload 8GB then capacity increases to 15GB so on…
im looking at around 100GB in one place actually.

        • use mega.co.nz at the risk of having your files deleted…again. same guys who ran megaupload.

    • +1

They aren’t all created equal, some simply to a better job or offer better ways to sync. I have multiple 50GB Box accounts, they don’t get used. Pogo offered unlimited for stupid cheap so I got it. Turned out to be a piss poor sync. Any OS X users that use programs like iPhoto that create folders as sparse bundles that they want sync will struggle with anything but DropBox. All of the others I have tried fragment the bundle and you’re left with a mess that is no longer syncing. DropBox costs more, but it just works, so they can justifiably charge more. I will try Google Drive again and see if they have gotten better.

  • Ignore this post.

    • +2

      Ok.

    • Nooooo

  • Mailbox doesn't recognise my Android tablet :( And I'm almost out of room on my unenhanced free account.

    • Phone? or someone's ipad?

      • Google doesn't like my Windows Phone 8 smartphone. And I don't know anyone who has a iPad.

        • For usd5 just do the imgigz trick above

        • Got it by downloading the apk file and installing it outside of Google Play. Once it was installed my PC app told me my extra room was allocated :D

  • Linked but no bonus space :(

    • Check your "Earned free space". you may have claimed it already during the offer 8 months ago on IOS

  • thanks!

  • I have Android 4.3.1 installed, but it says "This app is incompatible with your device", wondering why

  • Anyone here having problems with the imgigz vendor i recommended?

    • +1

I believe there were script problems earlier, but all orders have been filled now (well according to the comments above)

      • Went to 6 GB with offer above and then 21.8 with Imgigz $5 referral system.

        • The free offers plus imgigz can get you to 22.88gb. You must have missed 1gb offer somewhere. Check in dropbox "Get more space" to see where the missing 1gb is hiding

  • Up to 62.8GB now but I will lose 48GB in a week or so.

  • Worked. On 7.75 GB
