    • No he isn't. Totally crap comparison - for JN that is. I don't see many beaches in Texas.

    Does guy leech even lift?

  • I've been waiting for this deal.

    • you've been weighting for this deal???

  • Assuming these are not cast iron?

    • +3

      Lol…

Where was your last gym? Soviet Russia, 1979?

      (They're plastic-coated concrete IIRC)

      • Although you made me laugh I don't quite get it?

        • +1

I can't remember ever actually seeing old-school cast iron weights in any gym I've been too. They've mostly been phased out in favour of rubber-encased (sometimes Urethane for the really fancy places), Olympic-style discs with cut-outs for your hands to grip easily (so you can not only use them on bars but individually for free-weight exercises). The best stuff is made by Ivanko, Cemco, Intek, Eleiko, Werksan, Troy and York.

The cast iron stuff you get from the likes of Rebel Sport chips really easily, makes a god-awful racket when you're doing something like deadlifts, rusts quicker than an Iraqi submarine and the power-coat finish gets all over everything, including your hands.

If you're planning to have a set of weights to come back to for a long time, invest in something a bit better than plastic-coated concrete or budget cast iron.

The other good thing about quality plates & bars is the tighter tolerances and more accurate hole machining; so your plates/discs don't slide about or jiggle on the bar when you're moving them (which shifts the center of balance and can throw off your workout).

In soviet union , the weight lift you!

    • Looks like the old concrete in plastic job. Don't drop them.

      • +1

In order to drop, one must first lift.

Is this Guy a Leech? Or maybe he is a blood sucking parasite?

  • +1

Does the barbell come as one piece or is it detachable for portable reasons? If its detachable then its not safe.

    • Two bars that come together at the centre, with a screw going through both of them.

THanks OP bought one from stocklands wetherill park
