  • Does this have Google Play?

Does anyone know if it really has 8GB of primary storage, suitable for installing all apps to, or if it's like other cheap ones with only 512MB of proper storage with an 8GB of secondary storage suitable only for media and some apps as long as you don't want to use their widgets?

what does this even mean? ^^^

      according to the specs:

      Box lists:
      8GB Flash Memory
      7.0" touchscreen TFT LCD 1024x600
      1GHz Quad Core Cortex A7
      1GB RAM
      WiFi 802.11b/g/n
      2MP and 0.3MP cameras
      USB 2.0
      Android 4.4
      LiPo battery
      Speaker, microphone
      MicroSD up to 32GB

it has 1Gb of ram that your programs run in (this is good)
8Gb of of flash memory that holds your o/s and your apps (this is ok)

i would expect at least 5Gb of flash empty for your use?

the 1,024 x 600 screen is a definite no no

one day they will have 1,280 x 800 like normal 7" pads

On the 10.1" version you get around 800-900mb of space to install apps, once you've finished setting up and updating the inbuilt apps. It has the same 1gb/8gb. Does limit you a bit.

My real concern would be whether or not it really had Google Play, as most of the other Pendos don't.

Checked out 4 coles already and none of them stock this Pendo. Staff seemed clueless about this sale also.. Seems VERY selective stores may have them. Do u know which coles in Melbourne have this in stock??

  • Memory
8GB Flash (2.7GB out of the 8GB is utilised by the Android OS and pre-installed Apps)

  • A friend has this.
honestly I will give this a pass.
will wait for a brand name tablet like Asus/Samsung price to drop to $99 (which is $20 more) and will buy one of those instead.

  • Overall the unit is good in term of speed I benchmark it at 21000 however the display isn't great so I return it and it do not come with KitKat

    • yours posts made Snickers

    • and it do not come with KitKat

You got the wrong one then. Must be old model.

This new one is a bargain at $79.
The /data partition id 4.2GB, so plenty of space for apps.
If you want lots of music and/or videos, just add an SD-card in the slot.
It also supports USB host mode, with included cable, and has an mini HDMI output. (not micro)
      No bluetooth or gps.
Built-in speaker ok for games, but you want headphones for watching videos.
Smooth playback of 1080p videos over DLNA.

Decided to bite the bullet and get one of these out of curiosity. It's a little gem, and huge bang for buck at $79. It is fast and responsive, plays every game I have thrown at it with no lag and has no probs with Movie playback. Screen does look grainy and reflective at times, i think it just depends on viewing angles. I use it as a remote for my pc and TV. The most impressive thing - battery life. At first, the battery was was on 60% and completely discharged sitting idle overnight. Reviewing the battery drain and the cause was Network services (?), thus changed the Mobile Networks - Data Enabled to OFF, and sitting idle it drained only 2% overnight - very impressed. Also, a bonus it takes a 64gb micro sd card. So I get a great portable device, it does the basics with added extra like games, movies and music, & kids can use it etc. I wouldn't hesitate to get another at $79.
