      Lots of little bits of food & cheese and little sampling plastic cups of cider/beer/coffee. Purchase a tasting glass at Reception (was it $5 last year?) to get larger serves of wine & alcoholic drinks. If you sample everything you will not feel hungry, but you will need dinner later.

      Last year "Google+ Local" did a promotion where you get a Riedel red wine glass in exchange for writing 25 reviews. I wrote 50, claimed 2 glasses, and got smashed together with my sister. Instead of writing reviews, you can purchase a Riedel for $20 (or was it $25) at Reception too.

          Since I got them for free, I honestly couldn't remember the price. But I was happy to save on buying glasses, and getting free grog.

    If anyone has free tickets for the Melbourne one or know which codes to get them, please let me know. I missed out! I don't know if anyone has this problem but everytime I get on ozbargain and look, I never see anything worthwhile, yet when I don't get on for an hour or so, I miss out on good stuff. What is wrong???

      I went first time last year! Was heaps of fun. Randomly stumbled into a coffee, then a pasta class. Got free stuff and learnt a little too :) Enjoy.

      Its fun. Make sure you get the $5 tasting glass, the vendors are quite generous and will keep filling it up. No pressure to buy.

    Has this event changed at all? Last time I went, a few years ago, it was basically stalls trying to sell their produce and products. I bought a prawn peeler I never used.

      Sounds like it has changed. It's much less a trades show and more what the easter show USED to be - sampling produce and sometimes buying 'showbags'.

    Thanks. Got mine. This show is way better than that overpriced food porn circle-jerk that is Taste of Sydney. It might well be a bunch of vendors hawking their wares, but the many (many, many) free tastings and variety on offer and free entry makes for an excellent day out.
