@nikey2K27 : I've been stuck in bed for a couple of days. Was getting bored and feeling sorry for myself and then you come along ….with that gem! :-) "+1"

  • I had everything in my desk drawer stolen, so some stuff that I carry in and out from work… Ie: what you would have taken if I was mugged. They would have made nothing. I was in the negative replacing it all:

    1. IPhone4 - IMEI blocked within 10 mins. Phone deleted and blocked from remote. Unsellable.
      2 drivers licence
    2. Wallet
4: no cash. Lots of Medicare etc cards

    It cost me to replace

    1: $500 for new phone
2: $70 for new licence replacement. I thought that excessive and I now carry my $20 18+ card that I obtained more than 13 years ago. At least I'm not out of pocket $70 if I lose it.
    3. $20 to replace
    4. Just a pain to replace.

So basically, they made $0 value and I was way way out of pocket.
Police caught the guys from CCTV. No value returned.

  • None!

  • I have a cash business so I always seem to have over $500 (only $100 in my wallet right now, its the end of the week for me) on me But If I have too much I keep it at home, there is never a need to have great wads of cash on you really and my HTC one :D never use my debit card or my credit card.
Im alway real careful about my wallet and money.

  • Usually around 150-200 (i don't spend it just sits in my wallet for that in-case moment)
And if its in my wallet then its not on my card.. which means i cant go out buying random bargains from here :)

I withdraw $130 from the ATM around once a week. I find most places I purchase things in cash are not too fond of pineapples (e.g. parking, coffee expenses etc). Taking $130 gives you 4x $20's :)

I used to do that, then I changed down to just $80 withdrawals - all lobsters… so I'm usually carrying between $20 to $80, and both a Galaxy Note 3 and an iPhone 5s (one is a work phone)

I pay with card wherever feasible - less loose change, credit card points, and money in account slightly longer earning inconsequential interest)

  • Never use cash, but always carry it as a backup.

My wallet always contains at least a $100 and $50 bill - always replenish those as they are handy.

  • I carry $0 in cash, you'd get my Samsung Galaxy S4 and wallet (license, debit, student id etc). Paying with card is so much easier, especially with a lot of places having paywave there's really no need for cash.

  • I usually have a low multiple of 20 (I withdraw amounts which will give me at least one $20 note, as not all places like the 50s). I usually withdraw $40 or $60 (maybe $80 if going out) from the ATM and it lasts several weeks…I find myself using paypass a lot of the time now.

I carry my week's spending allowance ($150-200). I find it's hard to keep track of spending with credit/eftpos. This way, I can just open my wallet and see if I've enough left - or if it's baked beans tonight. (Trying to build up my savings.)

    • This.

Its frightening how much all those little spends add up

    • I find it much easier to track by credit because i have record of it. Otherwise I get to the end of the week and I'm like where did my money go? And if i have no cash then I'm less likely to spend it :)

  • Usually <$50. The mrs always raids my wallet when I'm not looking. If a place doesn't accept EFTPOS and I don't have enough cash, they don't get my business, period. Even if there's an ATM out the front.

  • I just say "that's not a knife, this is a knife!"

  • I'd just hand over my bad mother wallet and hope they are into Tarantino movies.

  • I just counted my coins. about $60.
I do always carry a camera (proper camera)

  • I usually never carry any more than $20. The only time I really need cash is if I'm heading to the markets.

  • $0 just debit cards, unless I know im going somewhere which accepts cash only then I would probably take a $20
