HP Deskjet 1510 All-In-One $19.95 @ OfficeWorks

1500

Yep, crapy printer. Probably the worst you can buy.
Yep, the printer probably comes with the ink to print half a page, although they claim it will do 190 black and 165 colour.
Yep, not really an all-in-one. More like a scanner and printer. You could be a lot better off with other options. Infact just about all of you will be.

However, it's (just) under $20 and it does print and it does scan.

Walked past it in office works Sydney CBD Clarence st, whole pallet of them available. If you know a cheap way of filling this with replacement ink then I suggest you comment below. Cartridge world has the black ink for ~$23.

Does include (from the HP website):

What's in the box:

  • HP Deskjet 1510 All-in-One more like some-in-one
  • HP 61 Black Ink Cartridge (~190 pages) as long as they are mostly blank
  • HP 61 Tri-colour Ink Cartridge (~165 pages) as above
  • Software CD dear god DO NOT INSTALL ANYTHING FROM THIS CD!
  • Setup Poster !!!!
  • power supply unlikely to be a true statement, i suspect you'll need to give the printer your own electricity, doubtful HP will supply the power to run this
  • power cord likely
  • USB cable WOHA! makes it a deal?!?!

Yep, sorta dupe, sorry guys.
Kudos to theearth for the actual original deal

    +1 for effort, though.

    • thanks mate, appreciate the support :)

Also notice that HP has replied to that original deal where the printer part was (in my defence) hidden

"You had me at …'Yep, crappy…"

  • +26

    +1 for your write up

  • +2

    Yeah funny post, OP :)

  • +3

    All-In-One

    It doesn't Fax

    • +26

      Right, no morse key either/

    • +3

I think you'll find it doesn't do a whole lot more than that.

    • +21

at this price it will probably make smoke signals after a month or so though.

  • +3

USB cable WOHA! makes it a deal?!?!

That alone. I need a USB cable, but I'm waiting for it to be cheaper for me to buy a printer bundled with one..

  • Anyone know any experiences of refilling the printer inks?

    • +1

I have experience refilling printer ink cartridges but not that model however quick internet search indicates they are reasonably refillable.

    • errr some ink tanks become powdery when you drill into them, so you need to open a hole with a soldering iron instead.

You can always try to use ink refill designed for another printer that no longer works… You got nothing to loose. You may need to leave the ink bottle uncapped in a safe space for a few days if its too runny.

But nowadays i find disposable printers is more manageable in the long run.

USB cable included?? what sorcery is this??

    also.. OP delivers Friday entertainment

  • +4

power supply unlikely to be a true statement

Yes my box is missing 1 Tesseract

  • +13

"dear god DO NOT INSTALL ANYTHING FROM THIS CD!"

Sage advice right there. Bloatware galore.

  • +5

not bad if you just want a scanner

    Scan resolution, optical
    Up to 1200 dpi

    • -1

And then you find out that the onboard memory doesn't even allow A4 at 400DPI… The massive all in one printer at my work doesn't allow for 400 DPI for A4 lol. Even if this is better then the massive units i reckon the "up to 1200DPI" could be for a business card size only.

      • A4 @ 400dpi is actually (profanity) huge… no need. As a guide - our enterprise fuji-xerox document-centre at work defaults to 200 dpi

  • +3

I love your display pic, OP!

    • +4

my display pic <3 u too

  • -1

wow, people still use ink jets?

  • Might get this just for it's scanning functionality.

  • Up-voting for the entertaining description :)

  • +1 for your sense of humor.

  • +1

    but will it blend?

  • Amazing marketing :)

  • I believe this deal is originally from Harvey Norman and that Officeworks priced matched them to avoid the 5% discount.

    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/computers-tablets/printing-in…

    • +3

At Harvey Norman you can get $5 free batteries if you add the $5 coupon

  • Will this take generic (non chip) tanks? OR can the tanks be refilled easily?

  • Why not this - how will it run?:

"dear god DO NOT INSTALL ANYTHING FROM THIS CD!"

Sage advice right there. Bloatware galore.

  • +1

This seems technically identical to my black Deskjet 2050, $18 at Harvey Norman, August 2012. I suspect the differences help retailers avoid price-matching. I rarely print, though results are fine, but I scan often so the machine suits me. Photocopies are fine too. I may get a spare one now, because I abhor the price of ink cartridges, and I am still on the originals.

  • Will this one clog up every 5 min?

  • +1

Does anyone still have their 2x Dell multifunction printers from a few years back for $9 lol

    • My just run out of ink, so time to replace it I guess.

  • +5

I still have mine Dell multifunction for $9

    • seriously dude have you bought the printer ink? i spent a fair amount on just on a cartridge of plain black ink which has run out after <1 week. that was the biggest marketing strategy on the planet. because it's so big and has WiFi support and a scanner, it's hard to throw it away, so I just use it as a scanner. But makes you want to just keep it and buy more ink :(

  • +1

I have one of these and it's pretty crap. Everytime I need to use it I have to unplug the power cable and jiggle it in while mashing the power button to get it to turn on. It usually only does so with the power cable just sitting in the socket almost falling out. Otherwise, I guess it scans etc so whatever.

  • -1

Why bother posting if it's crap…

  • +1

    printer is complete shit

    paper jams every 7-10 sheets

you would be lucky to get 30 pages of text before the factory black ink runs out

    • +3

well just print 6 pages then….simple

      • +1

oh why didn't i think of that

        -_________________________________________________-

  • -1

Does it do CD printing? Anyone recommend cheap CD printing printer.

  • you can use the parts to make a bargain 3d printer.

  • geez, Ozbargain has fallen on hard times. pray to the god of bargains

  • Nothing will ever match the Dell $9 printer deal, especially when most of us had it upgraded to the wireless version because they ran out.

Hands up to all the playas out there

  • -3

    Whats the power supply rating????

FYI it is an all in one.

All in all you get one crappy printer
    one over priced USB cable
one never to be used again power supply
    one coaster for the desk
one poster I'm guess shows what's under the hood
    all in one box.

  • I got this from officeworks $258 price matched to CPL, down from $380.

    http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/samsung-clx-4…

  • $19.95 @ Harvey norman too

  • +1 for the "yep"s

  • And once again, my printer needs a replacement ink cartridge (took over a year to use the one that came with it) and once again I am thinking its cheaper and easier to just buy a new printer.
