AmEx & 28degree vs NAB low Conversion rate charge Credit Card

Hi all

I applied/obtained 2 credit cards ….

1 x 28degree
1 x Amex Platinum Velocity

The purpose is to use them in USA when i'm travelling there BUT is it worthwhile to carry them both WHILE my NAB credit card has a low conversion rate charges?

Thank you

I got my 28 degrees card just for overseas use due to the zero surcharge for conversion. I pay it off in full after the trip and never use it when I'm home.

If you're paying interest fees on a credit card then you're doing it wrong.

    • I suppose to say all other conversion charges ……

Use your 28 Degrees card to make purchases in the U.S. It's a no brainer.

Why use other cards that will result in currency conversion fees?

    • They only gave me 4K limited ….. wtf while the Amex i got at the same time had a limit of 20K, go figure!!!

Also to the fact that i heard the 28degree can be un-reliable at time, true or false?

      • False, the only thing unreliable is that you use to be able to load it up and use it to withdraw cash at ATMs. Now they charge extra for that.

  • What sort of NAB card to you have and what is the conversion rate ?

replace with $0 Annual Fee Bankwest Zero Platinum MasterCard which has no forex fees :)

and of course don't forget citibank plus for free overseas atm withdrawls with no forex fees (or any fees at all) - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/138996
