Sierra Nevada Pale Ale 24x355ml Case Only $44.90 at First Choice Liquor - Now In-Store Only NSW

550

First post. Incredible price for a solid American pale ale. Currently $76 in dan Murphy's. Just bought a case at the Ashfield branch.

Infinitely superior to the usual swill you get in that price range! Enjoy!

Updated - feedback looks like NSW only. Sorry rest of country.

Second update - you can potentially order online by selecting NSW as your state for the site, and then a delivery address in your actual home state. Orders can be placed but we have not confirmed if they will be honoured.

How organised are 1st Choice? We will find out?

Sierra Nevada is a top notch ale. Great deal.

    • Yep one of my favourites. Definitely worth it

  • +1

    Showing $75 in qld

  • Showing $76 in VIC

  • +1

    $76 in WA.

  • Great value, but looks like NSW only. Likely the distribution centre in NSW has a pallet which is about to expire.

  • Hmm Can I update it?

    edit - i did

  • So I entered my state as NSW on the site, proceeded to checkout with my Vic address and it is showing as $103 delivered for 2 cartons. Worried that if I click confirm it will change to the full price.

    • +3

Clicked confirm, and it all went through. $103.70 for 2 cartons delivered to 3046 :)
Now let's just hope they honour it.

    • If that happened, you could always just cancel the order.
      Edit: above instead

    • Should i leave NSW in title?

      What do you guys think?

      • +1

As a thirsty New South Welshman, I say leave it in so the other states don't snaffle up all the stock. But now I have ordered, I am prepared to let the other states have a go ;-\0

  • I had a neck of this beer just yesterday, was a good drop indeed!

  • Great first post, great beer. Got one posted to 3072 for $51.85. Fingers crossed!

  • +1

two posted to westerns suburbs of Perth for $103.70
    See how we go!

    • +1

The money has come out of my account, so far so good!

  • Got one as well delivered to VIC. Fingers and toes are crossed.

  • Great drop. SN are the pioneers of craft beer

  • Managed to place ordered for deliver to 3350 for $56. Let's see if it'll be honored.

  • I really like this beer, just dont like the RRP but wow this price is excellent. Ordered 2 cases. Well done OP.

  • Awesome beer, disappointed it's not at this price in WA :(

  • Will try Wollongong this afternoon…

  • +2

Placed my order for delivery to VIC for $46.85.
Came up as $39.90 in the checkout. I assume this may be to do with a Flybuys promotion/discount.

    • That's an even more insane price

  • 2 slabs 93.70 delivered yeeew

  • Sierra Nevada make some great beers, how American craft beers should taste, then again NZ and our craft beers taste just as good. For the dark drinkers, try the Narwhal Imperial Stout, also made by Sierra Nevada, bliss.

    OH, looks unavailable though :(

For the dark drinkers, try the Narwhal Imperial Stout, also made by Sierra Nevada, bliss.

+1 much prefer darker beers for flavour and complexity - also try their

      • Bigfoot Barleywine Style Ale
      • Celebration Ale
      • Stout

      :)

      • Yep, all good. Also their Harvests, which are widely available, and the Ruthless Rye IPA.

I tried some of the smaller batch IPAs they released probably late last year and they were good but not worth the ~$10 per bottle or whatever it was.

  • Looks like it's now sold out online:

"Unfortunately Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Bottle 355mL is no longer available."

  • $46.85 delivered to Sydney. Cheers!

  • +3

    Oh. My. Lord.

This beer literally changed my opinion of what beer could be.

This deal is worth disbanding states for a single national territory!!

    • +5

If you like this, try their Torpedo Pale Ale. Drooooool

      • I love it, but I do not love $100 a carton.

      • Its a big, big beer, I prefer my IPAs a bit fruitier than that.

      • +1

I've not even seen this… now I must investigate - thanks for the heads up!

    • Totally agreed with pensionday. Tried one from the last liguorland special of pack of 8 craft beer sample pack, boy oh boy, I was nearly bowled over by the taste. Hands down the best Pale ale. Period!

Big call. It's a great beer but there are many great australian and american beers.

For good value American the Bronx pale ale is comparable taste wise for $70 for 24 x 473ml cans

        https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_778326/bronx-brewer…

There is Anchor liberty, widely available, and Pintail by Karl Strauss at Dan's.

We have loads of good ones - Stone & Wood, Badlands, Riverside 55 (particularly good), Nail Ale (BWS), Bridge Road at BWS…the list goes on and on.

        • I'm sure the list goes on, I believe you.

        • Certainly agree - I actually think Burleigh Brewing Pale (28 days? from memory) and their FIGJAM IPA are up there with our countries finest.

However… I think Sierra Nevada certainly set the scene for craft pales.

    • This beer literally changed my opinion of what beer could be.

try their darks for an even bigger revelation :)

  • So sad to miss this one! That is an awesome price. Any idea if it is still on in store?

  • 2 x slabs heading to Brisbane…

    Stinx2001….cheers! And also…thanks op.

  • another $46.85 delivered to Sydney. Nice work!

  • Appears to no longer be available.

Don't suppose anyone can scan their receipt for a price match effort?

  • Guys I think we ozbargained it

They seem to have taken it off of website? Is this standard for OOS or did they notice too many orders cheap in non NSW states?

    Go team!

  • They still had a slab out the back @Ashfield (thanks OP) not sure if it was the last.

  • On a side note. Jameson Irish Whiskey is $38 at Costco which is cheaper than other places.

  • Has anyone been able to get a price match elsewhere?

  • Damn expired :(

  • Just grabbed a carton from Belconnen ACT. Thanks OP, love this stuff, but love it even better at $45

  • Newcastles price was still $76…
but did get some Mountain Goat IPA very cheap so … silver linings..

  • Seems to be well and truly expired…sadly.

    • expired online - try in-store :)

How does this beer compare to Carlton cold?

    • +2

      Your taking the piss surely?

    • +2

It's not as nice but worth considering if your local is out of stock.

  • The Kellerweis is a lovely drop too

  • i was a bit greedy on this…. got 3 slabs for me and a friend from the brookvale first choice friday night and went again the next day but unfortunately was sold out.

the expiry date is 17/Jul but it is still tasting amazingly good. regret not having bought the whole stock the first time :-(

BTW - I paid 39.90 a case and not 44.90…. that was probably the ozb deal of the year for me.

    Thanks OP

  • I just got my confirmation email and tracking number that 2 slabs were on their way to WA :-)
    Thanks OP !!!!!

  • Just got a phone call from First Choice advising me that they're short on stock and my order won't be leaving until Friday or Monday.

At least they weren't cancelling the order!

  • Mine got delivered today (Perth) with an expiry in December. Excellent value

  • Mine are on the delivery truck heading to my house, thank you so much OP! And if they expire in December like the guy from Perth above me, even better. And if they expire soon, more drinking. Win win.

  • I ordered two. One arrived today. Other one hasn't. Anyone having similar issue?

    • Both of mine came today but they were seperate orders, even though I ordered them together. Hope your second one comes soon. Expiry is December which is awesome

  • The 2nd one came today. Very excited :)

  • Got my Slab deleted to Vic yesterday
