Olympus OMD EM-1 12-50 Weatherproof Kit (RRP $1899) $899 (Cash Back and Other Terms) @ JB Hi-Fi

741

Olympus OM-D EM-1 $1899 is the ticketed price at Jb.

Negotiated a discount of $300 for a purchase price of $1599

Used a onetime voucher code from JB mailing list - sign up to get mailed your single use voucher (expires this Sunday) for $400 off purchase price for a new price of $1199 - this is the price you pay at the counter (check their website for mailing list). Current ozb members not taking up the offer can offer their voucher in the comments for other keen members to use. The voucher is single use.

olympus is running a $300 cash back (12 week wait) for a total investment of $899

I've attached the receipt if it will help anyone with the negotiation /price match showing both the original $300 discount plus the $400 discount. You then need to claim the next $300 as a cash back.

You'll end up with aus stock with 2 year manufacturer warranty for $899. If you'd prefer the 12-40 pro lens or another prime lens, this deal will give you the best body only price plus a free waterproof kit lens to get you going. (Jb don't seem to offer the prokit)

MODS: please edit as required or move to forums if it's better there.

I really want to know how many others can emulate the ops deal. He clearly got lucky. I used the voucher to get mine and the staff at the counter read the terms and conditions! Noting it's off full price.

The digidirect is after cashback. No where near as Good as deal

    • oh where you get it?

  • Thats an Amazing Price

[edit] I accidentally pressed the down vote, instead of a plus vote, and it wont let me change my vote..

    • You can revoke it, click "votes" then the revoke button.

But I think you voted correctly. This was a price the op negotiated with the camera sales staff. Then he used a voucher on the register staff to get a further reduction. Good luck to you if you can get it. Ts&Cs are pretty clear. A few have tried with no luck from the above posts. One other person may have been successful.

  • Yes, not really a deal, just luck.

why did you give it a pos vote then?

      • because he got the same price!

worked for me too, got the last one at Knox JB. But they did put a bit of a argument due to voucher clearly stating not to be used with any other offer. In the end they gave up and honored the deal because they gave it to somebody else. Love a good bargain

    • Lol I tried this at my local JB…getting them to match any Ozbargain deal let alone JB is like pulling teeth!

    • hey waichan

can you please email me your receipt…i m trying to bargain with jbhifi they need a receipt…can you please sent it to my email id [email protected]

  • The receipt doesn't clear enough to show jb receipt, not sure they will price match? the mailing list saying $1799 - $400 only… if can get $1599 - $400 plus $300 cash back will be great.. can you please send the full scan receipt? $899 is a bargain…

    • I won't post the full receipt - it part of a cash back claim, so, you know.

But, JB will be able to recognise the format quite easily and there is a JB logo and bag in the background. Good luck.

  • Seems on jb website the camera is currently pick up unavailable and can only order online so I guess should be marked expired?

  • I really don't understand why the retailers clear this model so early. I don't see any replacement coming this year for the em1. Perhaps slow sales of the Camera division for Olympus as their camera business makes a loss in compact cameras but their m43 are growing and Olympus is going to continue focusing on m43 omd line and reducing the unprofitable compact camera business due to the growth of the smartphone cameras.

  • I've got a voucher if anyone wants it. First come, first served!

  • For anyone interested, this deal even without the negotiation bit is still about $130 cheaper than DigiDirect's offer a couple of week ago

I would +ve this deal if the title reflected the correct discount that anyone is able to obtain at any JB-Hifi shop. As it stands, it's not a legitimate deal because the T&Cs of the offer clearly states $400 off the retail price only (i.e. non-negotiable).

Couldn't get anything. Just the cash back and he was willing to go $50 lower. I'm in the market for an OM-D M-5 anyway though. Thought i'd give it a shot.
