ShoppingExpress Intel NUC Sale - from $169 + Shipping

50

ShoppingExpress last ran a sale on Intel NUC systems on 5/3/2014. Here is another opportunity to purchase these little puppies at the same price. Three months on, the discounted prices no longer look as attractive as they were in March, so please judge for yourself carefully.

The deal page is an à la carte for selecting the CPU, the RAM, the SSD, one Seagate HDD, and accessories. There is an extra discount ($5.10 or $10.10) for bundling the CPU with extra items on the menu selection. This extra bundle discount will appear in the shopping cart.

Note that the NUC Celeron system is still using the old buggy N2820. I recommend you avoid it and wait for the N2830 CPU that will eventually appear in new stock.

All prices are exclusive of shipping.

  • Almost got me with the false advertising on the site - "SSHD" + "SATA 6GB/s", check model number, checked Seagate specs, it's HDD not SSHD, and SATA 3GB/s. Change it REP.

    • ^In relation to the Seagate 500gig drive..

why are people downvoting this?? he's (profanity) right it's false advertising.

Bugger, just tried to upvote on my phone, but accidentally hit neg and now I can't upvote.

I also can't see why people have downvoted this - although advertised as a SSHD, the model number ST500LM021 appears to be for the normal HDD. The model number for the Seagate Laptop Thin SSHD appears to be ST500LM000.

While this is confusing, it may not be deliberate false advertising - SS may have listed the wrong model number but intend to supply the SSHD. It would be useful if a rep could confirm, (although I note the OP isn't actually a rep).

    • I just emailed SS to ask them to clarify the exact model number.

Specs been changed, if anyone bought the hard drive due to the original advertised specs, please PM me the order number for a full refund.

      Cheers

Yeah a few months ago I would have jumped at a celeron +4gb ram for a tidy HTPC (I already have a tiny SSD lying around for openelec or some other Linux based OS). But now I just wish I caught one of the $77 boxee boxes the other week.

The Core i3 price is nothing special. The i3 NUC deal CPL did back in March was a great bargain, I'm bummed I missed it.

  • Centrecom has the Celeron N2820 for $165 + $9 for shipping. They have the sale for a while now, it ends on 30/5.

  • just in time to get one for Steam's In-home Streaming
