When I download the file, it has the file name

    {$file_name_without_path_$$}

no file extension, and I get a warning

"The publisher of this program couldn't be verified"

    ???

    • you've broken it.

    • Yep - same problem.
It's like the bagels… normally Maths Invaders is $50 but when they don't have any they give it away for free!

      • Got it to work - seems they fixed the filename issue.
Its not a bad little program. Made my kid play it yesterday, then he kept playing it by himself.

I haven't looked at the link but does it work if you rename it to "mathsinvaders.exe"? (or .app for mac)?

      • +3

        YES !!!

        Thanks…

Seems to have lots of nagware every time you launch it…

        • you're welcome. I don't think the actual name would be important, but it might be, who knows (except the devs)

  • Well we broke the game, congrats everyone, we can now sleep in peace.

  • Seems legit …Similar deal was offered here in 2012 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/78089

MalwareBytes and Norton 360 didn't pick up any bugs when I downloaded it tonight..thanks altomic!

  • Yes, all good, I did what Luke53 said, installed successful.

same file error happens when you download the guide, so change/add extension to PDF and guide is readable.

Works fine, file name can be changed to "anyname".exe, also the guide is accessible from the menu.
Now to give it a true test in the morning with my 5 & 7 yr olds!!

    • Thanks OP. Look similar to the ones used in Numbersw**ks for $1000+ per term for English and Maths.

Thumbs up to Edalive to make good education free once again.

when I download just then. around 75k/sec for a 50M file. Traffic?

  • sorry- can some one idiot proof this- have downloaded - how do you rename it to open it?? When i click it asks which program i want to use to open it….

    • +1

right click your mouse on the file downloaded. Select rename. Left click. Type anything you like ending .exe. . Eg mathsinvader.exe. Then double left click to open. Hope this helps.

  • Anyone else having this problem?

Click the Parent Options, and it asked for Adminstrator password? What is the administrator password?
I don't remember setting it up during installation.

    • it is in the guide. default password is admin.
