  • Thanks OP!!!! By far the cheapest I've seen this. Looks like I'm cancelling my pre-order at EB.

    • -2

Just get EB to price match Target or Big W.

      • +9

Or just support the stores offering the discount in the first place by buying from them.

      • EB will not match an after coupon price. + what twig says :)

        • What Swnkenstein said + nothing

      • +3

        Stuff EBGames.

Their primary business is to sell games, yet they can't make it cheap. I'd rather support Big W / Target for actually giving us a good offer instead of trying to rip us off all the time.

        • +2

          Absolutely absurd logic.

Big W and Target have 10,000's of product lines, many of which will have fat margins (like cheap Chinese household goods). They can afford to give you cheap games to get you into their stores and spend money on their other crap. Even if you OzBargain them and only buy just the game, which they sell to you at a loss, they're happy to write it off because of their massive sister supermarket chains will cover the gap.

Just because EB specialise in games, doesn't give them enough competitive advantage to give you dirt cheap games. I'm confident that they bigger guys can absolutely destroy EB's buying power.

        • +1

I'd understand if they were the slightest bit competitive with their pricing, but it's like they don't even make an effort. They are ridiculously overpriced!

At the end of the day, it's all about the price for me, couldn't care less about service/loyalty

      • Cannot price match any good deal at my local EB Games store without them putting up a fight these days. Never again, going straight to Target / Big W who have the competitive pricing to begin with.

  • don't seem to be able to buy it? either they're all gone or something isn't right i guess… lol

    • I think we can start buying this on the 31st of May when this title is going to be released.

This is exactly how it went for Watchdog which I just bought yesterday. I had to wait until the release date around 10 AM on the day before I could buy this online via Target with the $10 off.

      • So the welcome code worked with Watchdog? It says this excludes interactive games.

        • Yes welcome worked with Watchdog.

      • ah cool, thanks for that… might just pay the extra $10 as i'm pretty keen for the game haha

        • Fair enough, because you have to wait for Target to deliver it from the Warehouse to the store which might take 5-7 days.

  • +1

If you want a discount at Target use the code "tenoff" the Welcome code was updated not be able to be used on games yesterday (refer to watchdogs post) therefore unless Target changes their mind this deal is inaccurate.

  • It's a better deal to use this to get Watch Dogs, because WD is $64 bucks at Big W and Mariokart is $58. So you'll save $10 instead of $4.

Of course, if you're not intending on getting both, get Mariokart :D

  • Can you opt top pick up? I don't wanna wait for delivery before I enjoy this game! MK party this weekend!

  • They've updated the exclusions list to include 'interactive games' after they realised heaps of people were using the code to buy Watch Dogs for $54. Not sure if this will work on the 31st for Mario Kart, so be aware.

  • doesn't work anymore

  • Do I still need to sign up for the newsletter to use TENOFF?

  • OP, please also kindly mention the "FREE Game promotion" from Nintendo when purchasing Mario Kart 8 WiiU making it better deal! :)

    Reference here: http://gamesites.nintendo.com.au/mk8_bonus/

The 10 Wii U games featuring in the Mario Kart 8 Bonus Game Promotion are:

    Nintendo Land
    New Super Mario Bros. U
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Wii U version)
    GAME & WARIO
    Pikmin 3
    The Wonderful 101
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
Sonic Lost World (Wii U version)
Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games
    Wii Party U

    • it's already been mentioned

      • ooops my bad. :)

      • You can't mention free things too many times.

  • +1

Why bother, its $58 at big w and you dont have to wait a week…

    • But fellow Ozbargainer, it's $4!

  • +1

Target catalogue says $58 but when you click on it, it says $64. Wonder if they have had a last minute change because of bigw's price…

TENOFF would bring it down to $52.20

  • The TENOFF code was originally meant to be for purchases over $60 but it does seem to work for values lower than $60 at the moment. The code will also expire after Saturday.

  • 'Currently unavailable online. Sold in stores'

Not active yet or temporarily taken off for pre-order.

  • Waaaaaaaaait. You need to spend $50 or more to redeem the $10 off; is that before or after the coupon?

Still probably going to buy Big W for $52.20 (with 10% coupon), because I have an aversion to online purchases. The internet is ASCARY!

  • +1

Big W $52.20 and you get it on the day, cheaper than this and we know it will work

  • nvm

  • Is it possible to get MK8, get free game, sell MK8 and repeat?

    • You would need to get a few Club Nintendo accounts.
"Each member of Club Nintendo can participate in this promotion only once."

  • Ok, it's not up on target.com yet so can anyone confirm if I go to big w at 8.00am (opening time) they will have it on shelf?

    • No!!!!!!!!! I was wrong all locals are 8.30 but target is at 8 damn

  • +1

You can buy MK8 from Target online now but the "Welcome" code doesn't work as it's an interactive game. The TENOFF code works though, bringing the price down to $52.20. Not sure about delivery times as you can click and collect. In short, no $48 MK8 from Target.

    • Delivery is $9 for orders under $75

You can actually get It for $48 with free delivery but you have to buy two copies and enter the code SPEND100GET20.
Brings it down to $96 with free shipping.

  • Thanks for the post anyway OP. I am sure I can find some other way to use the Welcome code.

    • Thanks for the feedback Innamura

      The deal updated accordingly.

      Have a nice day

  • Waiting out front if big w, target said code might work but I'll have awhile to collect it, 12 mins: )

  • So is this guaranteed price for click and collect? Still confused about what works/what doesn't

    • Yep though I think the code expires after today

  • If anyone wants to sell their Club Nintendo code from Mario Kart 8 please pm me, after a couple of games for the kids

    • there's someone selling here

      • Thanks - I've already PM'd him but have not heard back yet.

  • Ended up buying this today for $58 from target mount gravatt.
