  • Thanks. Worked for me too.

  • Great post!! worked for me

  • Has anyone actually used this program before and is it any good?

    • based on the description, I think aurora is pretty much similar to picasa.

  • anyone got this installed yet? seems to want an internet connection and open firewall for activation. mine hangs at "loading…"

    • Yeah i got it installed- but assume the activation servers are getting hammered

      • must be my work's proxy/firewall. will try at home later.

  • compared to Photoshop is this the same?

    • +2

Photoshop is a lot more sophisticated than this. All this program does is retouch your photos and lets you easily adjust settings like color, tone, lighting, red eye removal etc.

This is pretty much all you get. But if you already own Photoshop than you have no need for this… chances are you already know how to do it yourself?

  • Good find thanks!!!

  • Thank you :)

  • OK, i've had a bit of a play with this software now and reckon it's pretty ordinary. If I load up a 21MP jpeg and fiddle some colours, etc, it resaves it as a 3MP jpeg. There is no 'save as' dialog, no options/preferences screen, no help manual, it only works on JPGs, not TIF/BMP/RAW etc. Footprint is about 100MB.
Overall impression - not worth it (even though it's free). A flashy website does not compensate for an ordinary product. No wonder they are giving it away. Use freeware Irfanview instead.

    • I reckon picasa can do better.. :)
