What is your criteria for "Wellknown brand"?

    • +5

I won't lie to you, this is a genuine Panaphonics.

      • +3

        I prefer Magnetbox

    • I think you will find that comment is from Catch of the Day not the OP.

      • -1

Nope it says "Don’t pay more for this well-known tech brand!"

        • Which was copied from the COTD website, duh.

    • +1

I think this will separate the men (over 35s) from the boys (under 35s), since Tandy made a lot of stuff in, I guess, the 1980s.

Who could forget the Tandy TRS-80, my first computer and for many of my peers. Probably those under 35 who never knew it to remember it!

      • +2

Frankly, I won't consider it a genuine Tandy unless it has fake wood grain vinyl wrap. Oh, and the (cabled) remote needs to be about the size of a brick and have two buttons - 'on' and 'off'.

Tandy; Brought to you by Dick Smith…
That is just wrong in so many ways.

    Tandy!?! They still make stuff?

    • Nope this would be ordered straight out of a Chinese catalogue with a logo sent through email to be slapped on. They probably by accident sent an old Tandy gif instead of DSE. That would be why they're turned up on a clearance site!!

This is $498 from Dick Smith directly. Not a great brand, but well priced for a 40" FHD I think.

  • should also note it says

  • "This handy TV has everything you need" = So it is a smart TV with built in Wifi??

    • Do you "need" a smart TV with builtin wifi?

      • +1

it has air and food in it

    • I never really thought of a 40” TV as handy…
      Wouldn't you need a 40” hand?

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems to have better stats than the more expensive Dick Smith $350 40"

Does anyone know if this would support MKV 1080p "totally legit" video files?

    Cheers.

    • smith's dick has 100Hz.. the other specs are much of a muchness really

  • Rather wait for this to hopefully go on sale in July… I regret not having more money to buy more of them when they were that cheap…
