  • Cheap but fairly standard pricing for a Palsonic I think, and not full HD (though arguably you don't need it on 32").

Samsung/Pana/Sony would of course be another story.

    • Yes, if it is Panasonic brand instead :)
In fact, if it LG, Sony or Hisense too, I would buy it, but not Palsonic.

      • What about a trusty sorny?

        • Panaphonics or Magnetbox is better

        • Sorny sounds corny.

  • I misread it as Panasonic *sigh

    • +1

      Happens everytime.

I even had a mate at a party see my then-brand-new expensive Panasonic 50" Plasma and said he's got one just like it! I knew (but didn't want to make an ass of him in front of friends) that he actually owned a Palsonic… To this day I'm not even sure if he has noticed the 'typo' on his TV lol.

FWIW I own a 32" Palsonic, much like this but older model. It's been been okay but occasionally turns on black and needs 1 or 2 power cycles to correct. It's all pre-digital built-in and requires a STB which is a pain in the bum today. They work, but PQ is what you lose in the price tag.

  • I've only ever had one Palsonic product and that was a DVD player bought in the year 2000 which lasted less then a year before it broke down (yet it was nearly $600 worth). I don't place much trust in that brand.

I currently own a Panasonic 32" LED TV.

If you want quality you'll need to pay more.

  • ALMOST what i need, BUT i want FULL 1080 FHD, not standard HD

Best deal i found so far is the Skyworth 32E66A @$257

    http://www.skyworthau.com.au/UpLoadFiles/20131204/2013120410…

Any other choices, need around 28"/32" sized, "very keen!!" :-)

I'm now a fan of TCL. Much better than Palsonic, HiSense and Kogan brands, obviously not as good as Samsung/Pana/Sony/LG but not too far behind - they are a tier 1 manufacturer (make own screens) rather than rebranding reject panels like the cheaper players.

      A cheaper option to consider.

      • This Palsonic TV is likely to have one of those reject panels. And seriously they wonder why it's going for only $199 whereas the Sony/Pana/Samsung/LG 32" are going for over $300.

        • What you say is very likely true.

I wouldn't go there (I actually inherited the Palsonic I own lol). TCL is probably the cheapest brand I'd touch, am buying 2 of them shortly.

8200 might just be best saving for the better brand option.

    • Aldi had a set recently for $220? Soniqs at JB also give good value for money.
Just avoid the DSE, Kogan, stuff and any other junk brands..
For durability these days I would rate HiSense, TCL, LG (now that will upset some lol).

Panasonic is not the Panasonic it was when it was made in japan.

      • My Kogan is better than my Soniq for picture quality.

        • How about for durability. How long will your Kogan last before breaking down?. Reliability is even more as important than picture quality. Then again you're comparing one reject panel to another.

        • Well they are both still going so unsure how I can answer that, right now, picture quality is more important though.

      • Its $222 and i think imported by TempoAustralia who also sell a few other brand and are agents for a few too

NOT FULL HD so no good for me

        • You won't feel the difference on a 32" TV.

        • +1

I'd second that. Save a few dollars and don't worry (unless you need it for PC / gaming?)

  • SO how is this as a tv if your looking for a cheap one around that price range?. Alternatives?
