Due into Australia at the end August, but $100 cheaper than anywhere else in Australia. Which is a 20% saving!
At this price its even cheaper than buying it direct from Popcorn Hour.

A bargain considering it comes with 1 Year Australian Warranty or 2 years with a further 1 Year Extended Warranty for just $39.00

Plenty of hard drive, blu-ray drive and cable options to go with it.

Mod - edited title.

  • Popcorn Hour C-200
    Unit Price : USD299.00

buy direct and save a lot more. I voted negative because you claim you sell it 100 dollars cheaper than ANYWHERE online, which is absolute rubbish.

  • According to my calculator $299 US Dollars plus $45 US Dollars for shipping equates to $430 Australian Dollars based on a rough exchange rate of 80 cents. Not sure how you work out $430 is cheaper than $399?

The deal has been updated to clarify its $100 cheaper than any where else in Australia.

Not sure whos feeding you your information from but I can assure you we have more than 20 units :)

      it's actually $420 direct, versus $414 since you're including comparison of shipping…

I assume you will bill customers when it is dispatched??? As popcorn hour do??? Or will you be billing customers right away, months before delivery?

  • To be fair it is a bargain compared to the other aussie sellers.

That being said isn't there a $15 delivery fee for orders under $500? I don't know if you allow pickup.

Despite that making the end price not to far from an importation price there is the aussie warranty thing. On whirlpool even some other retailer of this are recommending people get it off MPAM while they have their sale.

Myself, I ordered one off MPAM last week and looking forward to receiving it (thanks to my Rudd money)

i think i'll wait for the new upcoming LG Bluray player BD390 as it did most of the stuff that this Popcorn does, and it plays bluray discs as well for about $450 or so.

  • does that BD390 do mkv? Regards Popcorn Hour - have had two of the first model since Jan 2008 and they are great!

    • apparently it does do mkv which makes it look like a great player

  • A bargain considering it comes with 1 Year Australian Warranty or 2 years with a further 1 Year Extended Warranty for just $39.00

What is covered by the "2 years with a further 1 Year Extended Warranty"? Consumers' statutory rights should reasonably cover at least 3 years for a product of this price and quality anyway.

  • How can you claim this is cheaper than buying it from popcorn hour? Can you predict what the US exchange rate will be in September???

If you buy it direct, you will be billed when it ships… With the way the US economy is going at the moment compared to Australia, it is likely the $AU will gain against the $US…

I think I agree with JV re billing. So you pay your money now? mediaplayers then uses your money to order your popcornhour (more like when they have pre-sold enough) then you get it when the entire shipment arrives? Why not just order direct and get it in a few days time after payment.

  • No offence to Popcorn or mediaplayer because it is a good product but I personally prefer http://www.xtreamer.net/ or http://www.playonhd.com/en/ much cheaper and achieve the same result I think but cannot fit bluray.

  • I am upgrading my current mediatank (also purchased from these guys), to the new C200 when it comes out, I briefly looked at the LG BD390 as I have the BD370 but from what I have read in the forums it does not have the codec support to play a lot of my media. They get my vote, because I could have saved a few bucks and imported direct. But for local support and warranty it really isn't worth it. The other 2 companies pre-ordering the C200 have it for $499 + Shipping. Additional items like DVD drive and HDD's, their price is the same if not better than going to MSY and picking up myself. I pre-ordered mine with a Lite-on Blu-ray for $538+ postage, not bad for a region-free (requires firmware mod) blu-ray player, that can play almost everything I can throw at it, from BDROM, USB, Network & HDD

I assume from you silence that you charge peoples cards when they order and not when it is sent out.

Yeh no thanks, I dont really want to pay for something now that I wont get until September.

September is A LONG WAY AWAY… What happens if you go bust? or if something else comes out. I think I will wait until you actually have these before considering this a bargain.
