Are these plagued with in app purchases like the Despicable Me (minions) game? It makes you feel like crap when you give your kid a device with their favourite characters, then to hear, 'Daddy, it wants money'.

Not playing all of them. Couldn't answer for sure. I remember where's my water is a full game. Some of the other games may have in-app purchases. But don't know if it's a must-have to play.

thanks for your reply, in stereo! :)

      • mono: Thanks OP, I find the Disney games take a bit of RAM to run smoothly but free is free.

      • No problem.^_^
I understand your concerns. I also don't like greedy developers puting numerous IAP throughout, or you have to "pay to win", in my opinion , such games should be Free upfront and have a warning prompt from the app store/windows store. I remember where's my water is a fun little game you have to pay $0.99, but where's my water 2 became "Free" game with IAPs. Just like PvZ and PvZ 2

2 of them requires Windows 8.1…
Which i'm not going to upgrade to…

Windows 8.1 is actually really amazing. I don't see why you wouldn't upgrade to it if you already have windows 8. It's an improvement in every way and a free download.

      • I'm waiting for the official release of 8.1 for the Lumia range as I heard that Nokia won't honor warranties if you upgrade with the developers trial. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong!

that sounds bogus. It is official release from MS. Don't believe people who invent truth because it 'sounds like it might be true'.

        • True it is a release from MS, but it is a developers release (although available to anyone). I read on a forum (can't recall which one) someone contacted Nokia, and that was the info they were given regarding warranty.
I am looking forward to getting it. Was one of the reasons I got a Lumia, but I am happy to wait. Official release is supposedly july/august.
Glad to hear it is running well!

I won't make any assumption about the terms of the Preview, but in general they won't turn you down over something so trivial - they stand to lose a lot more business if people know that's how they operate. In any case, from my experience they generally won't even know whether your phone is 8.1 or not - depending on the issue they may not even bother turning it on.

But since the official release is soon I guess there's no reason not to wait for it either at this point.

Windows 8.1 update is big improvement and patches numerous issues of windows 8. Think it as SP1 of windows 7 or SP3 of windows XP. You should seriously considering upgrading it!

I am most definitely upgrading it. Just waiting for the official launch.

        • I meant to reply NGPriest regarding Windows 8.1 upgrade. Not windows phone 8.1 update which I also patiently waiting for my Lumia 920. :)

        • Yes you did. My bad! :)

    • Why? Windows 8.1 is incredible, so unless your scared of trying something better, which I am not sure why anyone would be, you really should, best move I ever made.

  • Thanks for the post. My daughter will enjoy these!

  • 447MB for a game of Solitaire! what are they hiding in there?

  • wonder why it didn't show free on my windows 8.1?
