For those too lazy to click through, it takes a 26650 battery (ie one of the big weird-arse LiPo ones that need a special charger). It has an adaptor so you can fit 3x AAA instead.

    I run a couple of single-AA LED torches as headlights on my commuter bike. They're a few seasons old, and about due for replacement. If these took a single AA NiMH, I'd grab a few. But I'm not going to screw around getting a 26650 or 18650 charger and start another battery collection.
    
    No matter, I'm sure there will be a good deal on what I want sometime soon. They're not exactly hard to find these days.

      Thats OK, grandpa.
      But a single AA simply cannot produce the power to run an XM-L on high. It will give you plenty of lumens to be seen,
      but not enough to light your way at bicycle speed. This torch needs a bigger battery to do the XM-L justice.
      
      Its a shame there is no standard in the local market for Li-Ion batteries, but 18650s and their chargers are easily available online.

screw it, i give up MyLed, your website is horrible and you know about it yet dont bother to get it fixed. in many previous deals i have had to tell people how to get around your site constantly crashing just so they could place there orders.

ive gone from a happy MyLed customer that has bought many many items from you to someone who is not going to buy another thing (if you fix your site maybe ill think about it)

revoked my plus for this deal… pity i cant neg it now.

    they know, ive also many times in previous deals helped out other OzB'ers letting them know you have to clear your MyLed cookies for hte site errors to go away and go thought your order again..

      yea… sadly ive again run out of negs for you today. but even tho im unhappy with this current deal MyLed is far from a scam site. admittedly i was obviously REALLY pissed that i couldnt order this torch, and there site does honestly suck…….. ive never had a problem with them or there delivery or communication (even tho they arent the best at there second language english)
      
      i have been in contact with there rep 2nite, and they are (again) working on fixes for there site. i hope they can finally fix it so its as good as there service/communication usually is.
      
      credit where credit is due…. myled has always been good to me, and has again fixed up my issues i had tonite. it seems even tho i couldnt order through the site tonite and i was… well… rather pissed off about it… they have delt with it via my PM's with them and i hope they are on there way to fixing there constant problems with my help. i look forward ti receiving this torch in the next few weeks…. if not ill be sure and post up if i have issues….

      The vast majority of us have got what we have paid for, even though china post suck and myled have been slow.
      I would suggest withdrawing your post, or restricting it to facts and your honest opinion which cannot be mistaken for statements of fact, not allegations you dont have evidence of.

      yup, even tho i am obviously rather pissed off that that i couldnt buy this deal, i have never had an issue with MyLed past there somewhat dodgy cookies.
      
      if you dont get a product delivered from china its more likely that its been lost in aus than it was never sent from china…………

      Real figures;
      2/8 orders have arrived for me.
      Crazy long wait times which go way way against what they advertise.
      Poor rep response to any past thread if you have issues, "just wait longer" delayed response after PM's
      Don't reply to Paypal disputes - and wait the full dispute process time allowed not to respond.

      sorry its dinner time here and i was just away eating rather long PM sent explaining in detail..
      
      but in short for anyone else, as i have always experienced with MyLed site, it stops at random points and you have to clear your MyLed cookies and reenter everything again from the beginning. usually its only once or twice so while slightly annoying its not a huge issue (for me anyway) but tonite was out of control. it just would not let me finish the checkout process.

This is a good torch. I have one. Triple o-rings. Also runs quite happily on an 18650. Magnetic (Hall effect) switch. Has a deep reflector and is a thrower. Has a glass lens. It appears to be a true waterproof torch.

I am a self confessed torchaholic, and I bought this one for the boat, though it lives on my desk with all the others……

    Went to checkout, got a post price and when tried to update total it died.
    
    EDIT: Just tried again and got through. Got shipping price, updated total, went to pay with PayPal and zip, nothing. So I had to open 'PayPal button' in other tab and paid. Then sent back to myled site and had to fill in billing details (as if I had paid by CC). Filled in details because I couldn't proceed without doing so, then I couldn't place order until I had updated order details. Phew,,, Got there, I think.

  Same here but watch out for the strap coming loose. It wasn't fastened to the torch, just threaded into the hole, and another tug and it came out of the plastic grip at the other end too. Otherwise a good torch for the price.

Just got this yesterday. How do you switch between those 8-mode? I can only turn the switch left for continuous light and turn right for SOS.
