  • Requires Android 4. Can't use unfortunately!

Get a phone from this century.

      • A decent 4.x phone costs a bit of $$ and heaps of people still use 2.x. Shame on the dev.

        • -1

yeah, they should totally make it available for people with massively outdated hardware who are so broke they won't pay for the full version anyways.

          SHAME

  • Is 3MB for those on data..

IMHO trial software should not be considered as a bargain. Eventually one has to pay full price so where is the savings?

    • +3

Agreed.. and as such this is not a bargain.

      • +2

        no deal

    • Agreed. I'll still with Keepass which is free.

  • +3

Keepass works like a charm for me and it is free.

    • +2

      KeePass 2 all the way.

When it comes to encryption software, I personally think you're much better off going all OpenSource. As we've seen recently, the NSA has no qualms about hacking or coercing commercial software providers to provide backdoors. While you might not be worried about the NSA coming specifically after you, once a backdoor, exploit or vulnerability exists, it could end up being exploited by anyone.

      • unless you are on MacOSX then it is not :(
I do use it on PC-Win7 and iPhone fine.

        • Agreed, Keepass is kind of a nightmare to get working on OSX, however I found it works brilliantly if you use something like CrossOver instead of the native binary.

      • -3

Yeah, because Open Source software is totally secure and the peer reviewing system ensures that any vulnerabilities are swiftly corrected (16 years later).

        But hey, NSA! MICRO$OFT! ETC.

If you're going to pay for a multi-platform password keeper, Lastpass is by far the better option at $12 per year all inclusive (single user, all platforms) vs. ~$50 give-or-take for each of the desktop apps plus whatever subscription based cost it is to keep the mobile versions.

Lastpass also has a referral system for 1 month free ($1 value, LOL):

If you don't want to pay then use KeePass.

    • +1

I have no experience with 1Passowrd, but I am a very happy LastPass (and Xmarks) user.

    • 1Password goes on sale often enough…I didn't pay anywhere close to $50 and there's no ongoing subscription fee…all updates I've received are free on iOS at least.

From memory it may also get included in those Mac Bundles that you see pop up every few months from a number of sources.

Each to their own, I prefer the 1Password application.

      • You obviously started on iOS 1Password at v3, they charged for v3 to v4 and i stupidly paid for it both times, back then i really wanted to use it but it just didnt do it for me, and sure if your mac centric you'll probably like it better than windows centric users.

    • Yep, I use LastPass as well. Browser plugin is really great. Am managing well with the free account at the moment too as I only use my google account and facebook account on my phone so entering those in once was not hard.

    • I'm a lastpass premium user too and a highly recommend it. Just make sure to enable 2 way authentication to better secure your data.

I think some people are being unnecessarily harsh. the existing 1password reader was very "old" in terms of graphic design and if you don't pay for premium in this "new" app it does EXACTLY the same thing as the old version.

But those who want to be able to ADD, EDIT or otherwise managing (moving records around) now have a choice to do this on the android phone whereas in the past you didn't at all!

I'm not voting at IMHO this isn't a bargain but it probably doesn't deserve a negative vote

    • +1

But there is no bargain.. it's a 6 week trial period..
If this is a bargain, then all Shareware is a bargain!
