NetGear WNDR3800 Premium Edition - $79.99+Shipping @ Mwave

20

Hi all,

This was actually cheaper during the MSY sale for $74 but i think that has expired.

Currently, Mwave is doing this for $79.99 + shipping. The next cheapest one is $95.50 + shipping from KS Computers.

All in all, a good gigabit dual band router that can install dd-wrt.

Also, apparently this is the premium edition, no idea what the difference is between the normal one…

Anyway cheers!

P.S. To the Mods, this is a Group deal but as it is stated as on at the Mwave website, im assuming this is an active group buy deal? If i'm wrong please remove this.

        Very shonky practices…

        It's well documented.

        http://www.goodgearguide.com.au/article/339577/accc_nabs_mwa…

        • Are their practices still like that? After being caught by ACCC wouldn't they be less likely to be shonky thereafter?

In reality they probably just got better at not being caught.

        • I am afraid it probably still is. That ACCC article was written in 2007, yet few years ago in 2011, I still had to ship my old Seagate hard drive to Singapore for a warranty claim at my own expense after contacting Mwave.

        • Thank you for the warning

Should contact the ACCC again and provide details so that this time they get fined rather than a warning

  • I have one of these with DD-WRT on it. Works great as a wired router, but the wifi range on these is pretty much non-existent (on both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands).

    • Agree. Tried one and found the wireless range unacceptable.

    • I have heard about bad range as well. I must be lucky as mine running gargoyle has better range than my wr1043nd on 2.4ghz. Very good router for gargoyle/dd-wrt if you get one with reasonable wireless.

    • I put gargoyle on mine, wifi ranges were much better than what we had before with the modem/router that ISP provide. Not sure if I have the premium one though.
