  • The SteelSeries keyboard is available at Bing Lee for $69 (or it was… depending on how successful you are at finding stock).

Yep. Pretty sucky keyboard (non-OEM/ANSI layout) and the Cherry Blacks are not that popular because they're uncomfortable to type on during longer sessions.

  • No SSD?

  • And they have dropped the Asus T100 to $479, making it $455.05 with Officeworks price guarantee. As Officeworks advertise a 5% price beat, keep them to their promise.

    • Last officeworks i went to had a list of stores they wouldnt price match. MSY apparently was at the top of that list, so YMMV

      • It depends on the store manager. My local OW is very happy to match MSY on Microsoft hardware. Staff PM MSY so much that they don't even check the web site for availability & delivery fees anymore.

      • +2

5% guaranteed price beat is false advertising if they do not honour it all the time. This seems to be the standard practice.

Just wondering if it is worth complaining to ACCC. If everybody on ozbargain complains they may be prompted to actually do something about it…

How can they choose who they dont want to price match
MSY is a legit store it's not some dude selling stuff from his home or on ebay.
if the item is the exact same one then there shouldnt be a reason they are allowed to not PM

How can OW price matching with MSY if: 1) non-existent stock @ MSY, 2) MSY never pick up their phone.

          Auburn MSY in particular.

and… 3) to save 5-10 bucks, you are welcome to queue up to 45 min. You get served in OW within 5 min. :D

        • +2

Officeworks serve within 5 minutes? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha you must be joking. My nearest stores are PATHETIC for floorstaff being available to answer questions. They see people approach them and no kidding they run and hide in aisles or out back of store.

        • Never had problem with OW around my area or nearby suburbs. Suck to be you.

Whoever negged me, go back to that long MSY queues. :D

        • Which store is this?

      • OW floor manager in Pitt St Sydney said he can price match MSY without issue except for Sandisk brand as apparently MSY source their Sandisk stock from a paralel importer [so he says] .

Try that OW store if you are near.

I just tried to price match with OW. The staff rang MSY and no one answered. He said he couldn't do the price match because he couldn't confirm if there was stock. He then proceeded to check out other offers online and was willing to price match the shopping express price (!!) so I got this for 445.55

        • wow, he obviously didn't add the $10+ shipping from Shopping Express, and you didn't have to wait for Couriers Please to lose the parcel during their 2 week 'kick-it into the back of a stinky car' delivery service either! Congrats!

PS I don't believe the MSY central number is staffed on Sunday. Otherwise they answer pretty quickly and can tell you which stores have stock to pickup.

      • Prospect\Main North Road Officeworks in Adelaide always match it for me, I show them the price and that it's in stock on my phone and they've put it through every time.

      • Which store was this? They're not supposed to do that.

Source: I used to work at Officeworks.

  • I bought the same keyboard from them a week or so ago and the space bar has already stopped working consistently when pressed near the right edge.
Theres a few internet articles describing the same thing occuring with various mods to fix it.
Frustrating as this one is a replacement for a razr black widow ultimate which also stopped working correctly.
So far I have had 3 mechanical keyboards, the first one lasted 20 years, the other 2, 7 months and 1 week.

    • There is only one switch on the spacebar. Its possible that your stabilizers are just not on correctly. Take the spacebar off, clean it, and add it back on. For bonus points, reverse it (so that the front of the spacebar aims towards the function row).

  • good luck with them actually having any stock of these products

    • I haven't had problems in Melbourne with stock availability for ages. The last notable exception was a $5 discounted wireless mouse that wasn't in stock on order.

The biggest criticism I have of MSY currently is their Clearance Items page http://www.msy.com.au/viconline/233-stock-clearance. 90% of the stuff shows 'out of stock' and I can't understand why they don't prune this page. Lazy I guess.

      • +1

You can prune it yourself with the Availability checkbox on the left.

I wonder if anyone has had any success with the in-store back-order.

        • There is actually no such thing as the in-store back order

        • Hi silent1,

If you walk into store during promotion time and your promotion items sold out, we can back-order at special price and ship it to your door for free once stocks arrive (not apply for system package order).

          Thank you

Ordered something before from your online store (says it has stock), no reply confirmation (not even a courtesy call). Rang store few times & no one picks up. Went to your store on the third day and item sold out. Asked the counter guy if the store going to restock item, nada. No offer for any back order, no apology. That is after a long queue coz that thick faced counter guy just mucking around. Funnily, this is ain't the first time it happen.
Shonky business practice. I think you should pay your boys better so we gets served better.

No offense, this is just an ex-customer feedback.

        • Which store was this?

  • Any idea how to find the Acer 24" LED K242HL on their website?
