"Successful completion of the course will not only make you a safer driver - it can save you money as well. In recognition of your efforts to improve your knowledge and experience, AAMI will reduce your comprehensive car insurance premium by 10% until you turn 25.*"

Below post seems to suggest it's not as lucrative as once thought, but I'll still give it +1

Its pretty dodgy with the "save 10%", because that applies to all insurance companies for "loyalty". But in reality they jack up your premium every year so you have to constantly try and find another place which will better that deal! - But good find for all those bad drivers out there ;D

This bargain has been around for 5+ years……..

Yep, I did this course back in November 2007. It's pretty fun and the 10% off is an added bonus.

I didn't like that you had to pay in advance, then get a reinbursement. Also, you had to use your own car, which they then tinker with to disable the ABS (if you drove one with ABS).

Otherwise, it's a very useful course.

    • They don't tinker with your car by disabling the ABS- there's no way for them to do that. The only 'tinkering' they do is check that you have the correct tyre pressure.

The whole point of using your own car is so that you learn how YOUR car handles and what it feels like in different emergency situations. There would be no point doing the course in a RWD Commodore when you drive a FWD Barina!

I did this course about 2 months ago(I'm a red p's driver). Thought it was so great and they actually give you practical works to do so it shows you truly how you drive and what speeding and other stuff does. Also you get to really drive your OWN car to its max.

    I would give it 9/10
