      Yep, crap.

Don't any old flash drives work?

    • No….sort of!

I went out and purchased a 16Gb and it was a decent one. My Xbox 360 Slim didnt like it. It still formats it but gives you a warning that there may be issues.

This is only 8GB, maybe if it was 32GB it might be a deal, but even then you can format any decent USB flash drive for an Xbox 360 and use it.

That's correct - you can. Just requires to be formatted by the console.

You can get a generic 16gb Sandisk USB flash drive for under $10 on ebay which probably has a better read/write speed then this one and has twice the capacity.

    • I think the 360 will only let you use 16GB… can't remember if that's true, it's been ages since I've done it. USB sticks are usually too slow for the 360

      • It's limit is 32GB per USB port for storage, I use two on mine that are 32GBs each, not sure if you can use a third or even a USB hub but it'd be cool if it was possible.

      • According to support page, a minimum 1gb flashdrive is required:

        http://support.xbox.com/en-AU/xbox-360/accessories/usb-flash…

        • I think he meant the maximum is 16GBs :)

They 'generously' doubled the storage allowance to 32GB so now you can use 32GB of your 2TB USB HDD as XBOX storage….oh Microsoft

    • This flash drive was obviously designed when the Xbox 360 was first released and when 8GB flash drives were common place and standard.

Its 8GB for all those that wanted to know.

EDIT: Too slow… damn got distracted by a Whatsapp message.

  • Make sure you backup your saves.. I know someone who had over a thousand hours worth of save games on his USB stick and it went faulty, losing everything. It was the official USB stick too. They will replace it under warranty but won't give you any recovery service.

    • They probably want you to use the XBOX Live cloud save lol

  • Those 'unique' extras are unique to any USB drive.
