  • "Carton damage" could be a bit of a concern. Otherwise as long as it's 100% working it seems like a good price. $329 on staticice.

  • No option for local pick up at payment screen and charged twice for shipping. Now have to contact seller and try organise pick up if possible.

    • +1

Picked up for $5 fee. They also had the xfx 290x version too! but sold out within first hour and was only $50 more :(

      • Was the box damaged? Card working fine?

        • +1

No damage at all, perfect sealed box and both cards working in crossfire like a dream!!

  • +2

Just offered $160 and bought two, $181.99 each including shipping is damn good.
Living in Canberra, my occasional trips to Sydney and physical storefront eases my concerns about the lack of warranty - if it's DOA, I return it. If not, great deal!

    • +1

Ditto, offered $160 and got two… happy camper! Now… I guess I need a new mobo capable of Crossfire haha!

      • +1
        • Pick both the gpu's and mobo up at the same time if you live close by their depot.

        • +2

Doesn't look good for Crossfire, one only operates at PCIe2.0 4x

  • Sold as is according to their ebay Page. I guess no recourse if your card is doa? Also I guess there would be no warranty as they are not an authorised reseller?

    • -1

Item is listed new on their ebay page so you would get full paypal buyer protection. No manufacturer warranty though I would assume.

    • "We offer a DOA policy, where if your item does not work when you receive it, send it back to us, and we will refund you your purchase price or replace the item if a replacement is available ."

  • +1

Was just looking at buying the 270X version of this card from PCCG for $219 + post, so this is perfect!

    Thanks OP.

    • +2

      You're welcome :) Don't forget to give the deal a + vote :p

  • I think whirlpool needs to get a credit here!!!!!
Also offered $150 and they accepted.

    • +1

I didn't know it was listed on there tbh. That being said ozbargain and whirlpool go well together. Deals get listed on whirlpool that you don't see on ozbargain and vice versa.

    • I offered $130 and they rejected. Worth a shot. They gave me a counter offer of $165. Now to submit a counter-counter-offer of $150!

      • Okay $130 is too low. Someone try $140.

        • They didn't accept $150.

  • Anyone wanna try offering $140 and see if they accept it? :D

    • +2

      trying 140 for 2x.

      • Let us know if it's successful. I'll edit OP

        • still no reply yet..

    • I bought it without even realising they have 'make offer' option ='(

      • Me too. I paid $198 all up, still cheap though.

  • I just tried $160 for 1 and it was accepted. Very good price still.

  • Rejected my $150, counter offered $160

  • They also have new (packet damaged) ASUS Z87M-Plus mobos for $69.99 with the 'make offer' option. If they accept lower than $69.99 on it pls let us know so OP can be updated.

    • will they work with i5 3570k?

      • No

  • Yep, if buying 1 card, it seems the lowest they go is $160 (I offered $155)

  • Got it for $155 :D
Just realised, I now need to upgrade my case as well, thanks ozbargain. That's another hit to the wallet.

    • watttttttt! They declined my offer at that price :(

      • +2

Yeah I first offered them 150, they countered with 165 and then I offered 155 and they accepted.

  • just put in an offer for 2 for $150 each. will see how i go. will make an awesome upgrade to the two HD6950s im currently rockin' :)

    • I don't think they accept $150 anymore. But see how it goes.

      • yeah counter-offer for $160. are they at least combining postage? i dont want to pay $40 post…

        • +1

No combining postage unfortunately. Two 280x's delivered for $360 is still a great price though.

  • +1

They counter offer $160, I offer $152, they wouldn't budge, so I declined, it wouldn't be a much on an upgrade from my GT660Ti anyway.

  • Grabbed one for the wifes pc build. Cheers.

  • Paid $170 for it on Ebay (didn't want to bother waiting for facebook reply).

The express shipping is the same price as normal shipping. Overall I paid $197 and it will be here Wednesday-Friday next week.

Thanks OP! Needed an upgrade from my 6950 1GB.

    • Same upgrade for me, thanks OP!

    • One question - because this is an AMD card, will we get access to 3 free games? Will there be a promo code in the boxes we receive, or is that store specific deals?

      • +1

If you don't get any game codes, try contacting amd directly and tell them you bought a brand new 280x card but didn't get the game codes. They may email you some. They did that last year I think when some people bought new amd cards but didn't receive any codes.

      • Promo ended last year according to the AMD website:

Q6:Do the unique coupon codes expire?
        A6:
The unique coupon code does expire. Unique coupon codes for the Never Settle Forever promotion expire December 31, 2013. Unique coupon code must be used to obtain free game downloads by December 31, 2013, after which the unique coupon codes are void.

        • +1

Looks like they just forgot to update the FAQ.

Page 1 of the Terms and Conditions shows the current campaign period as running from 21/04/2014 - 31/08/2014.

        • Thanks.

  • Thanks. Got one for $160 + post

  • Cheers OP, nice upgrade for $160 fingers crossed no DOA.

  • Do they explain how it got damaged? lol.
It could be flood damage for all you know.

  • Thanks!

  • +1

    Damn missed out. Nice find!

    • I missed out as well, was just about to make a purchase!

  • I bought one for $160 then realised I could mount 2 for crossfire and they rejected my offer of $160 for the other… ended up having to pay an extra $5!

  • Graphics card sold out? :(

  • Missed, good deal!

  • GPus sold out. Mobo's still available.

  • Just paid and noticed that Express Shipping (Fastway Couriers) is also $21.99

Hopefully get it a bit earlier now :)

  • all gone! sigh should not have diddled..

    • +3

It's the diddling that'll get you every time.

  • bloody hell…missed it.

  • +1

Holy (profanity) moly - my friend bought his XFX R9 280X DD from pccasegear yesterday for 329 dollars! D: What horrible timing…

  • Missed the boat by 10 minutes.

Checks timetable for next boat, ETA unknown. Bugger!

    • You could go set fire to a computer shop storeroom…

      • I'd prefer water damaged to fire damage, unless they have a good sprinkler system.

  • Grabbed one for 165, fingers crossed the damage is only on the box - great find OP!

  • damnit missed out :(

  • +1

Crapballs, would have jumped on this @ that price!

  • What offers are they accepting on the mobo?

    Update: $60 accepted

    • +1

My offer for the Z87M was accepted @ $55…

  • was too quick to click the buy it now…. didnt see the best offer… oh well still good price

  • This is the Black OC Edition?

    • +1

That's what the pictures indicate, so hopefully.

      • +1

Description states Model: XFXR9-280X-TDBD which is the OC Edition :)

  • +1

Just picked up a Z87I Pro for $70 + shipping. Good price for a mITX board.

  • Tempted to get the mobo but then my i7 2600k is useless so pass.

    Great price though.

    • Seems like the Seller has wisened up, removed the BIN listings and are now putting the GFX cards back up with auction listings only…so they'll make more $$$$ for sure…

  • Well I waited and waited and just clicked purchase at the last second. Then kindly asked for $11 off for postage and yup done:)

submitted a claim with rewards Central for 175 points = $1.75 in value.

So yeah worked out better hehe

  • Is this the best value card you can get for the money at the moment? I havent kept up with the graphics card scene for a long time…I'm still running a HD4850 + Intel HD5000(? - from a newish H87 mobo) :)

    • At this price? yeah nothing comes close…but bear in mind you will most likely have no manufacturer's warranty…

That's if you can buy it for under $200 delivered…BIN/Offer listings no longer available.

  • I got two of these, paid $160 + post. Pm me if anyone wants it.

    • Can I take one!! Ive been looking for one of these at the right price for months. Have sent you a PM

    • I can't pm right now but I'm willing to buy

  • I bought two but they charged two sets of $22 shipping fee's so going to cancel one.

They are however fairly unresponsive when it comes to messaging them. Do they perhaps have a contact number?

    • +1

      On their website it says:
      PH: 02 9894 7778
      M: 0408 002 824
      Maybe try those?

      • Thanks danj.

I called up and they said they would cancel one of them in another hour. Hopefully it allows someone else to pick one up =)

        • I'll buy it off you so they don't have to cancel it

    • can i buy one from u? I'm in sydney…please :)

  • Who is familiar with how the Radeon Rewards (free games) program works? Will there automatically be a redemption code in the box or would you have to get it from the retailer?

Edit: I think I found my answer here. It's up to the retailer to give you the code. Seems unlikely that this type of seller will bother to distribute the codes.

  • Anyone in Sydney want to buy one from me? I bought one but don't really need it… PM ME

    • The good ol ozbargain buyers remorse. I've been subject to this too many times!

    • I am if still available.

      Cant private message new account.

    • I'll be willing to buy it off you. Can't pm right now though

  • Damn I'm building my friend's PC in a week and he just bought one from MSY for almost double this.

  • whoops
