That's nice that it has two outputs.

  • Nearly half the capacity and more expensive than Xiaomi's 10400mAh one…

Xiaomi??? I'll choose Panasonic any day.

      • Panasonic is good but not 250% better.

      • Xiaomi uses LG & Samsung hardware.. They're the hype in tech world now. Cheap & Quality.

I know they're big in China. Personally, I choose Panasonic over any of the large Chinese battery manufacturers.

        • Chinese manufacturers doesn't necessarily mean bad quality. Sure, they are able to make good things, since most of the "good" products you buy are also made by them. They just need good control over quality. Many big brands in China is already doing well in this, to build a good reputation.

BTW, the battery in Xiaomi is froom LG. Xiaomi just assemble it and put a case on.

But this Panasonic is different from Xiaomi. Panasonic uses polymer-lithium while Xiaomi uses standard 18650 lithium cells. Polymer-lithium can go on fire but has low risk of explosion, while 18650s can explode. You know, most laptop batteries are made of 18650s. That's where the terms "4-cell", "6-cell" come from, and why sometimes you see news about laptop battery explosion.

So while Xiaomi is a good product, it's also reasonable this Panasonic is more expensive and has less capacity.

If you can find ones that arent fake they are.

In as little words as possible… I'd trust an almost 100 year old company (Panasonic/Matsushita Electric Industrial) and their quality control over a 4 year old one (Xiaomi). I was simply trying to point out the obvious of comparing the two brands. It's a free country, do as you wish.

    • Wouldn't they have more to prove? China is the new Japan.

wasnt long when people laughed at the idea of the koreans making a good car. hell, now they are entering the luxury/high end of the market.

the same was done with the japanese, everyone laughed at the idea of the japanese making a decent sports car, or heaven forbid, a luxury car. learning curve takes time and patience, give enough time, and they will soon get there.

      Agree.
Japan is always better than china.

      *I am Chinese.

      • Once a Chinese company takes the risk and put out high quality gear, the rest will follow… assuming this happens, this will be a new era of quality and R&D

Chinese? Come on. You are Japanese…

        • You do know the Japanese use to be known for cheap trinkets… that Samsung/Taiwan companies were known as cheap imitations of Japanese…

With the Chinese and economies of scale… well..

    • Quality control is something wether they *want to get with some more cost, rather than wether they *can make it. Recent years many Chinese brands has grown big and are trying to get into international market. That's enough reason for them to provide good quality. And they are already doing well in some areas. I've been looking at PC speakers recently and just found both my favourate brands, Hivi and Edifier, are Chinese. They are way better in quality and value than Logitech/Creative from my experience.

I do agree with you a 100-year brand may give people more confidence and we may trust it with lower risk, but that doesn't mean every Chinese brands are really inferior in quality.

We could make points all night, that's why I'm stopping now and going out to get drunk!

  • I got one from Japan not long ago for around 3200 yen ($33 AUD), it support wireless charging as well, and that was their everyday price. Now Dick Smith tell us $39.98 is 50% off. Wow.
