Kathmandu Polypro Thermal Tops/Bottoms $9.95 from $29.95. Other Great Offers in Store

700

The cold is hitting harder and I decided to bite the bullet and get a few to try. They arent the same as the thermaplus line but will do fine for everyday warmth. Still great deal for $10, keeps me warmer than any $10 tshirt.

  • $10 shipping kills it. Free shipping only for purchases over $100.

    • It wont let me fulfill the order. There is error message on shipping method.

…and it wants me to fill out my address etc. even though I'm using Paypal (which sends those details anyhow).

These prices are available in store

  • great, thanks.

  • Thanks

  • Anyone tried these out?

    • +6

Yep. They're thin, but surprisingly warm.

      • I justified buying it because i like to sleep/wear the $10 t shirts Gior Dano used to sell. These are noticably warmer

    • Hubby and I bought ourselves 3 pairs each this past weekend… they're great as pajamas hehehe ;)

  • +2

is it the same price in store?

  • +2

I went and picked some up on Saturday, wearing one now. Quite happy with them for the price

  • Perfect for keeping up with the fitness regime in these chilly conditions.

  • +1

Grabbed a polypro top and 3 for 89 termalcore thermals on the weekend. Polypro doesn't look like proper termal, but it does look like a good top/bottom for just $9.95:)
Thinking about going back again in store!

  • Not sure how warm these are… Might be a waste of money.

    • +2

Wearing one right now, not super warm, but reasonable enough, good for Perth winter.

would be interested how they smell after you get a bit of a sweat on, the reason I almost exclusively go with merino

    • +1

Yep I use this as PJ's and another set for wearing around the house. If you sweat in it it holds odour due to the fact it's polyester. Good deal for $10 though

      • +1

Not polyester, outdoor thermals are polypropylene, which is better at wicking moisture.

If you just want long underwear for use at home, you might as well get cotton ones.

    • i like merino but its a bit expensive to sleep in.

A pair of these tops and bottoms, a ski mask, goggles, and some warm keks, 99cm mini skis and a pair of flick lock ski poles and you can go skiing with just an overnight bag full of stuff. Sure beats carrying around loads of crud.

These things shrink in the wash more than shrinky dinks in the oven! Tho they were awesome insulation on the motorcycle before they shrank.

Source: I own a top and bottom that I could only wear until their first wash. Yes I've also put on weight since but I know they shrank.

    • Did you wash them in cold water?

      • +2

Of course? Who can afford to wash in warm water?

What's with the negs, was trying to warn people of the poor quality.

    • Man, I remember shrinky dinks. We must have been pretty starved for entertainment options back then.

  • Love Kathmandu stuff.

  • Had quite a few pairs of these in the past, great cheap alternative to merino. It's not amazing by itself, but it works really well as a base layer.
It was warm enough for the NZ winter (including for skiing) and definitely warm enough for the majority of Australia.

Went into their charlestown nsw other day. They had this jacket http://www.kathmandu.com.au/down-jacket-v2-men-midnight.html down to $200 with a $30 gift card. And if you sign up to their summit club on the day you get a $20 gift card. So we bought the jacket and got 5 sets of thermals for free.

  • For winter hiking or staying warm I prefer merino wool over plastic. Keeps you warm even when wet or sweaty. Less odor as well.

  • Are these equivalent to 'Altica' ones I bought a long time ago?

  • just went to Brisbane CBD store.

not much size XS / S left.

Not much in any size in decent colors.

place looks like a bomb hit it.

    • +1

Don't normally need thermals in Brisbane, unless you work at the ice rink, or cold storage facility.

  • The last time I bought thermals I remember them being ridiculously small for the stated size.

    I don't have these and am size L shirt/Polo/T (36-38?) usually.

Also the mans version shows breasts on the dummy in the pic so are these unisex?

    what size should I get?

    • Generally thermals, especially synthetic thermals, are on the tight side because they are meant to be hugging your skin. Synthetics are also less stretchy than woolens which make things feel even tighter.

    • They are unisex. It says it on the box.

  • +1

Also the mans version shows breasts on the dummy in the pic so are these unisex?

They're pecs! Or at worst, moobs.

    • Def look Moobs to me
      Darn, at not unisex.
I was going to get 2x to try and award both to significant other if I didn't like and she did (or visa versa).
This appealed to the ozbargainer in me.

  • Just a note for buyers. These aren't anti bacterial treated material. So if you intend to wear these for sports activities where sweat is present then these are not for you. But for the price you can't compare

  • Plenty left at Perth CBD store this afternoon

  • Just came from Cnr Bourke & Elizabeth Streets, Melbourne CBD Store.
Most common size Medium and Large going out quickly.

They had no Medium Mens Polypro Long Johns (Black)
They had no Large Mens Polypro Long Sleeve (Black)

I was only after Long Johns and Long sleeves for both Medium and Large size.
