Blaupunkt Bluetooth Sound Bar + Wireless Sub BPS004BTS $49 + Del @ DSE

1030

out of stock again :(
Back in stock, hurry if you want one. says out of stock but you can still add to basket and purchase. Shipping is no longer free so best to combine with other items for over $99

Possible price error, seems very very cheap. You can't find it on the store by searching, had to find an old link from google.

If you're considering it, I suggest you act now. Similar to this deal, except it's half the price

Please read the reviews (avg 3 stars on DSE) and decide if you want it, doesn't look like it's a full home theatre solution (no dolby etc). No way it's worth $300, but at $49 looks pretty good.

EDIT: Some are reporting issues with completing purchase, you may need to give it anywhere between 4 and 20 attempts.

    • yep, sadness. have updated deal. feels perm this time as the product page is gone.

  • +1 Even though I resisted, this was an awesome deal, and OP deserves to crack 100!

    • aw thanks.

Was a bit of a struggle to dig up and find the bloody product page!

  • Mine is delivered today :) got it on my work desk now

    • that was quick!

let me know the size of the box it came in :)

given they ship a pack of AA batteries in a box fit for a bar fridge, i'm going to assume this came in a shipping container.

      • They ship it in the package box. it's pretty long about 1125mm x 215x430mm.

yeah i was surprised, it was shipped out last night and got to me this morning :)

Hopefully I won't have any hissing sounds. not going to be using the sub anyway just brought it for the soundbar.

    • I got mine today also. Where was the little plastic thing that holds the battery for the remote in the packaging? I could not find it anywhere and I haven't been able to use the system since you can't switch it into standby without the remote. I think they must have forgot to put mine in :(

      • +1

Mine was in the remote. Had to pull it to insert battery.

Sub can pickup interference and makes a loud humming noise. I just moved it a bit until it stopped doing it.

Sound is OK. The mid range is very pronounced. For music I had to max bass and treble to balance out the mid range.

Seems really well made, and for 50 bux its great.

  • Mine still shows "awaiting fullfillment".
My order was placed in the second wave (when the product had shown unavailable, bu then become available again).

    I'm getting nervous :(

Well after half a day of using it, I'm left scratching my head as to why they would make this product with such serious design flaws…

    1. The bar goes into standby when there is no signal for a while, that's fine and pretty much a standard function. BUT it doesn't come back on automatically when the signal returns.

    2. You HAVE to use the remote to turn it on. And when it does turn on, the volume defaults to 16, which is a joke its so quiet. So not only do you have to manually turn it on with the remote, you also have to manually adjust the volume each and every time. Seriously? WTF?

    3. The sub randomly switches on and off with a very loud thump in the middle of the night. The sub also randomly switches off and on again during use. Couple this with the seemingly random buzzing sound from the sub, and I'm thinking about returning it.

Its not worth $50 to have to put up with this BS. They couldn't even pay me $50 to use this POS.

  • It is SOOOO BIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG !!!!!

Just got an email they are short of stock and have offered to replace mine with Philips one
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/soundbars/philips-sound-bar-spea…

    Is this one better ?

    • So if we want the Philips one we don't have to do anything?

      • I think so, if you want refund says to contact them otherwise nothing.
Ps: is this one any better ? Price is much higher

        • Don't know but at $49 it's still a bargain. I'll take it.

    • +2

I've got the Phillips one as well lol. It was $99 I think. It doesn't have BT or wireless sub.

I have an issue with the Phillips one using g it on my TV. If I change the volume on the TV quickly, the sound bar will switch itself off. Requiring you to manually turn it back on.

Other than that it seemed to work fine. Better than this blaupunkt one. At least it turned on and off automatically with the source, and rememberes its volume setting between uses lol.

  • got the email upgrading to the philips one as well

    • What you gonna do? Refund or take Phillips

  • Got the 'Philips' email too but as mine was intended as a gift and I needed it to have Bluetooth I've asked if there is another alternative or if anything could be done if I was to pay an extra amount. We'll see…

    • They didn't budge. They recommended a $250+ Samsung model and told me it would cost $200 more per unit. Simple as that so I've asked for a refund. All good.

  • Got the email too…it's bait and switch. Original / market price for Blaupunkt is around S250 and this philips one around S129 and no wireless.

  • Dear Dicksmith, you have just swapped a $299 product to a $129 product, and trying to make us feel you have upgraded my order from $49->$129, we have lost $170 rather than saved $80. Is this really what you are going to do to your customers? Don't you think "SAMSUNG 2.1 Sound Bar HW-H450" should be offered? Or I'm happy to pay $60.2 extra to get "Sony Sound Plate HTXT1"

    • let us know what they say in the reply

      • will do mate

  • +1

must just be sending email to those who ordered in the second lot of the deal, when i am guessing they did not know just how many they had in stock in the warehouse and system did not update to show they sold out so quick, my order still showing the Blaupunkt with Despatch date: 25th of June and expected ETA delivery: 1st of July

    • I am certain I ordered in the first lot, when it was still on free shipping. This is really dissapointing. Seems they do not ship it in the order sequence. But probably rather ship to Sydney which may cost them less.

  • I got the blaupunkt delivered on Friday - mine has a high pitched whine from the sub so returned for refund today.

  • I received no email - mine still shows "awaiting fullfillment" though I don't have high hopes - unless I get one of the dodgie ones that someone else has returned due to a buzz - Yay!

  • Myn shows as sent but the tracking has been saying in transit since the 25th….

  • I recieved mine today and its a piece of garbage. High pitched whine from the sub, and the sound from the speakers is distorted even at low volumes. I'll be returning this tomorrow :/

    • Which one ? The blaupunkt or Philips?

      • the blaupunkt

  • still waiting since 26 June. 'scanning at depot'.

    • Startrack claims waiting to hear from dse (for a deliverable address) as they don't deliver to pob. tho local p.o. says they get 2 deliveries a day from startrack.

      • Yes I had same problem.I dont understand they dont deliver to po box I have recieved alot of stuff before via startrack to my po box but now they say I cant today it came but.nobody was home.so now I have to go to there business hub to pick it up usually goes to local po but this time I have to go to there business hub 2 suburbs over to get it…..

  • My Blaupunkt just got delivered today in WA, it comes in a huge box that i am guessing takes up too much room in normal delivery vehicle guy showed up in a huge truck maybe why delivery is slow for some, i got the buzz on the sub too but got rid of it with some simple troubleshooting, make sure you don't have it too far away from the sound bar and make sure the sound bar is on first before you switch on the sub otherwise the buzz does not go away, perfect for my bedroom setup not having cables going everywhere, have yet to try bluetooth function, not sure how others have it plugged in but I'm using the optical plug and so far everything seems to be working as expected.

    • WA, delivered today too in a startrack truck.
I have my sub right next to the bar and it still buzzes. If you do the power cycling dance and get the buzzing to go away, it will still come back at some point. These speakers are terrible.

Now to determine which Perth DSE to return this to… I'd be ok with an exchange for the Philips one as I don't need bluetooth.

  • I received mine yesterday. Tried to plug-in both Optical cable or Coaxial cable to connect with TV but it didn't work. Sound bar didn't power up. It looks faulty and I will have to return to Dick Smith.

    • U have to switch it on with the remote.

  • Still nothing
    Mine just says awaiting fulfilment

    • Mine is the same…

Got the email to "upgrade" to the Philips then nothing further….

  • Mine says

1-JUL-2014 12:39 MEL SCANNED AT DELIVERY DEPOT

Man, how long can it take ?
Stories of buzzing speakers aren't exciting me

    • same here. bought 24 June. Startrack keep me waiting on phone.

      • called Startrack 7 July. Told me they would call back on 7th to tell me when to p.u. at hub….where & when. Nothing!

DSE at Warringah Mall last week said they would follow up. To no avail.

        • Startrack got in touch. Picked it up at a hub. Soundbar working great. Yet to get something outta the woofer.

  • mine still says awaiting fulfilment (aren't we all!)
I sent a request via website saying when will you deliver
Hoping they offer me the Phillips so I don't get the hiss

  • Set up the Philips Sound Bar and it is an excellent device for $49. I would buy again if it came up at $49.
