Don't buy it if you got an ati card. My R9 290 won't work at anything above 1080p. I also tried with 2 different 280x and cables still the same issue. My gtx670 works flawless at 4k just a bit too slow for it.

    • Are you using HDMI output? That is limited to 1080p on many monitors/video cards. Have you tried with DVI? Seems weird that it flat out would not output above 1080p.

      • Yeh try DVI or display port. not card's fault if you are using hdmi

    • My 280x runs my 4k monitor fine with two 1080p monitors and a tv connected at the same time. (minidp, active minidp to dvi, dvi and hdmi)

Though I only appear to be able to connect a maximum of two of either dvi or hdmi connections. Thus the active minidp to dvi.

    • Geez I get negged for stating something I am having problems with? I can run it fine @ 4k with Hdmi on all ati cards but cannot with displayport with various different cables I bought. I just got home from work and I posted previous comment on my 15 min break on my phone so missed the other comments till now. This monitor does not have dvi.

    • Also other users on youtube have same problem as me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAASlcrA5Xc

There is definitely 4k support on AMD cards. My old Radeon 7750 works over HDMI at 4K on my TV

    • As my statement above was meant for the display port. I can confirm it works over hdmi but only at 30hz which looks terrible playing games.

  • Not negging the deal, but this monitor didn't get a very good review from a few sites. Also the adivce is to wait a bit for better 4k screens to come out.

Good price for a 4K screen if you cant wait for later gen models

  • This monitor didnt get very good reviews, poor viewing angles as well. Also its not IPS.

Also this monitor does not have VESA mount/bracket support. So if you mount or will ever want to mount this monitor you cant.

  • This monitor DID get positive reviews, however because it is a TN panel it was not loved by all.
And that is fair enough, if you go into it knowing what you are getting (a cheap 4K monitor) it is great.

I have one and admittedly should have held off for the almost identical Asus version as it has a VESA mount, but this looks nicer and has a better finish. the Asus and Samsung use the same panel though so are effectively the same.

  • Just purchased this today from Harvey Norman, shelf price $749.. Asked them to match Dick Smith at $617.30 and he sold it to me at $616 :)

  • I got one last sunday during that ebay deal.
