  • Got the 5200, but no email from good guys about $50 credit.

    • Check your del docket from good guys ( they emailed me mine this morning). Else try ringing them to make sure you get a del docket emailed to you tonight. The key is to make sure it has today's date on it.

      • I didn't get an email from The Good Guys about that either (bought a 5200).

According to the terms and conditions link provided…

        1. The Promotion commences the 14/06/2014 and finishes COB 30/06/2014

        2. All Claims must be received by 11:59pm AEDST on 13/07/2014

So, I should be okay if I chase it up tomorrow and they email me a docket number going by that (I hope).

        • Yep you are right.
Purchases up to Monday the 30th are Valid for this deal.

  • +1

I picked up the BD-H5500 for $87 - picked up instore and was refunded the $5 delivery! Now I find out its eligible for this!!! Great deal!

    • the BD-H6500 is good for $112 + $5 delivery too.. i got mine for $125 @ costco which I thought was already a bargain

      • I think 6500 is $140 + deliver.

        • 20% off til tonight?

    • Hi Cam0, can you please let me know the way to get it store picked? Do we need to contact them after placing order through ebay? Thanks

  • Reading the T&C's it looks like you will be elligible as long as payment was made by COB today, so a delivery docket with tomorrow's date etc shouldn't be an issue: "To be eligible to receive a Store Credit claimants must purchase the relevant product in one transaction from participating The Good Guys Discount Warehouse store in Australia during the Promotion Period. The purchase must be paid in full before the end of the Promotion Period".

    • +2

      COB 30/06/2014 - that's Monday isn't it?

      • Apologies, my mistake. Thought I read that it needed to be bought by today.

Would anyone know if these newer Sony models have ABC iView? It just says Sony Entertainment Network

    • +1

Pretty sure they would have the same catch-up/streaming services as the 3100/5100 (older models)… Good question though. I can't find it in the user manual or product webpage.

Does anyone have a definitive answer as to whether iView, SBS on Demand, TenPlay and others are available on the Sony 3200/5200 Blu-Ray players?

      • +1

        Yes they are, and Plus7.

I emailed them about it earlier this month:

Thank you for your email and interest in the BDP-S3200/S5200 Blu-ray players. I have provided a link below which outlines all available applications on our SONY products which does include iView, Plus7 and SBS to name a few. Please note content available from the applications can differ on some devices.

        http://www.sony.com.au/microsite/iptv2/iptv_home.html

Only not Nine's Jump-in, which is only currently available on iOS and web, unfortunately - jump-in.com.au/faq/

  • Thanks for the reply, fingers crossed it does as I just bought one :)

    • +2

Thanks tomwood. It has all the catch-up services.

I picked it up from my local store, since they were nice enough to call and confirm my address for the courier… and refunded my $5.

I have to say the BDP-S5200 (and 3200) aren't like the older models. No display whatsoever. It's smaller. A lot smaller. Cheap and nasty remote as well.

      Actually considering returning it!

The $50 voucher is not available for those buying after June 28 - http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/BonusOfferListView

    • Dont think that is the correct promotion

I believe these are the T&C for the promo
      http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/cons/groups/public/documents/b…

Nothing specified about eBay store though so not really sure…

EDIT: This is on TGG ebau auctions so I think it is all good.

Is The Good Guys eBay store the same as The Good Guys ?
Yes. The Good Guys eBay store is part of The Good Guys Discount Warehouses(Australia) Pty Ltd.

  • Dammit! I bought a TV from DSE instead during the eBay sale.

  • did you get a tax invoice from TGG when you purchased your Blu-ray from their Ebay store?
I want to buy the Samsung BD-H6500 but need to make sure I can claim the $50.

  • Well done for spotting the bargain but what's the player actually like? Any good? Amazon reviews are luke-warm:
    http://www.amazon.com/Sony-BDPS3200-Blu-ray-Player-Wi-Fi/dp/…

    • I did a Google search the Samsung BD-H6500 is better on spec. it supports 4k up-scaling and overall a better Blu-ray

      • +1

        $112 + $5 delivery is a bargain.. i got mine for $125 @ costco about a month ago

        • sounds a bit average

        • huh? i'm talking about the samsung not the sony

        • my bad

  • Hey, so I'm buying this at 1 am Monday, do I still get the store credit?

    • +1

      Yes

      • +1

Yes, last day today the 30th. As long as "All Claims must be received by 11:59pm AEDST on 13/07/2014. The Store Credit expires on the 04/10/2014. (“Expiry Date”).

        • Ok thanks. I called up the good guys store the email said was processing my order, and ask them to do a pick up instead. They said it was fine.

        • call my store, and they refuse to change to pick up, bad luck

  • Good deal, too bad I have a ipad and a iphone. Probably will have compatibility issues such as screen mirroring :(

  • Thanks OP for sharing.

  • out of stock?

  • A couple of questions,
    No pickup on GOld Coast.
Is the 20% off still valid and where do we enter the code?
    Thanks

EDIT seems out of stock on ebay and GG website doesnt accept code.

    • I bought one this morning, around 8am, the 20% off eBay promo code still works.

  • +1

Is this blu-ray compatible with my samsung smart TV?
    tia for answering x

  • GoodGuys not accepting Code!

  • Is this still working?
Purchased Mon 9.30am, only received ebay email.

If goodguys send docket email tonight, one can still submit online offer tomorrow, as long as its dated today?

  • This is not out of stock - Just purchased it myself.

  • Not out of stock!

  • new stock comes, still available for both model

  • Is docket number similar to order number?

    • I was wondering that too. So far I have an email saying my Good Guys Order has been allocated to a store for processing. I received this last night (approx. 1.5 hours after placing the order).
I don't have anything with a docket number on it.

      • Hmmm, I am yet to receive the "processing" email or the docket yet. Is this something we need to call up about?

        • I have just been sitting here deciding if I should ring them yet. I purchased the item before the COB 30th June so I'm assuming that's enough for the claim. Surely as long as we have made the purchase and put in the claim before the cut-off date (13th July) it should be fine.

        • Yeah. Maybe the invoice will be included with the player.

  • I can't find the link for the claim form?

  • has anyone logged an online claim of the $50 in-store credit on any of these models bought from Ebay yet?

    • Yep. It worked fine

    • Did you have a docket number or was it the order number?

      • You get a docket number on your invoice when it's delivered (or if you call the store and they allow you to pick it up).

I ordered mine on the 29th at 8pm, but the date on the invoice was 30/06/2014 (the date the store processed my order, the date I picked it up).

After placing the order, I contacted them on eBay to ask for a docket number and if I could pick it up from my local store (since i'd received an email saying it would be processed there), but their response was "You'll get an invoice with the delivery and eBay purchases cannot be picked up in store".

        Good luck with it!

        • I purchased it on the 29th also. The store my order was allocated to rang and left a message yesterday afternoon to say they were sending it. I received an email today to say it had been sent. If there is a problem with the invoice date I have the paypal and ebay confirmation that I purchased it before the cut-off - they will have to sort something out.

          Hopefully it arrives tomorrow.

        • +1

Ordered 29th. Was delivered today. Docket date 30th. Claim went through. All good. Hopefully the guys who ordered on the 30th are still eligible to claim because chances are that the docket date will be 1/7.

        • I ordered it on 30th morning around 6am..got store allocation email around 7am and docket email around 3pm same day..i just need to pick it up from tnt as i missed a delivery yesterday !!

  • Bought the Samsung BD-H5500 for $111. What is the number I should call to chase the delivery docket?
    Thanks

    • why didn't you use the 20% off coupon?

  • +1

After being Oz Bargained Overnight… TGG have now added new stock to their website. I have now updated the post so it is NOT OUT OF STOCK OR EXPIRED.

    • Nice work mate. Thumbs up!

  • +2

Keep in mind that the 200 series is loosing a ton of features this year due to cost cutting by Sony.

To the best of my knowledge, with the exception of Miracast, these are just some of the missing features in S5200 compared to last year's S5100:

    • SACD playback
    • 2nd USB port
    • Onboard surround decoder

These may or may not be important to you but I bought two S5100s for under $100 and couldn't be happier.

  • So I called the local TGG to see whether I could get a docket and they couldn't find my order on the system. Perhaps it has been diverted to another TGG which had stock of the product. Will try head office tomorrow - the number I got was (03) 9338 4300

  • UPDATE: I received the item on Tuesday after ordering Monday (Great service) - No invoice either in the mail or post. I emailed the customercare email address that you recieve when you order and received my invoice today via email. I have submitted the claim.

    • What date was on your invoice?. I also ordered Monday the 30th June but my docket date was 1 July. I tried to submit a docket date of 30 June with my docket number but the Good Guys claim website would not accept. I then tried again with the 1 July docket date and the claim was accepted (but this is a worry as the docket date is after the 30 June cut-off date).

      • My docket date was 30 June. I added in my email that I needed it for Tax purposes and to make a claim.

      • +1

Mine is the same but as an earlier poster (Hobbes) pointed out, the Terms and Conditions say you only have to "have purchased and paid for" by COB 30/6. The docket date is irrelevant, apart from for making the bonus claim. So don't worry there'll be a few of us in the same boat keeping them honest to their offer.

        • Agreed. The terms were that the item just had to be paid for before COB 30th June.

        • I returned mine as the store refused to backdate the invoice to 30/6 (even though I purchased and paid on 28/06). Also, the item looks like it is the display unit, rather than brand new.

While the online support seems friendly, there is nothing they can do (it is up to the store). I feel the store is quite dodgy. The store is willing to future date the invoice, but not back date the invoice. What does that tell you?

  • +1

Edit - I put my claim in with the docket date of 01/07/14 (ordered at 7.23PM on 30/06/14) and got the following:

Congratulations! Your registration is now complete.

A confirmation email has been sent to your nominated email address, please contact The Good Guys on 1300 GOODGUYS (1300 466 348) or [email protected] with any questions, or if you have not received your confirmation email.

If you have registered for a gift/store credit with purchase offer, your gift/store credit will be delivered to your nominated address. You will receive your $50 store credit via email by no later than 04/08/2014.

If you have entered a competition, please refer to the promotional terms and conditions for draw date and winner notification method.

    So let's hope it worked!

  • I wonder when the $50 credit will be emailed?

    • Still haven't got mine.

      • Anyone got theirs yet?

        • Nothing yet.

        • no, but the T&Cs said "Store Credit will be emailed to customers no later than the 04/08/2014" so it may be a few weeks yet

        • @ozzie freddo:

          Still waiting.

        • +2

Still waiting! I'll contact them if I don't receive it by 04/08/2014.

        • Still haven't heard about mine yet!

  • +3

Just had a discussion with the TGG customer care and they have mentioned that the emails with the vouchers would be sent by Monday.I got my name verified and it was on the claim list. So all good so far.

  • +1

    Got my voucher this morning!

    • Same here.

  • Still waiting for mine :( and with the headphone cancellation … grrrr

  • got mine this morning too…(exactly complying with the "Store Credit will be emailed to customers no later than the 04/08/2014" listed in the Terms and Conditions)

  • Just a quick update for those that didnt receive it … I rang and they were able to give it to me over the phone. All other goodguys emails seem to get through ok but this one didnt to my work email. Just give them a call and quote your name if you didnt receive the email.
