Found this deal on Hotels.com where they are doing up to 40% off a great amount of hotels from all over the world. Looks like there are some great deals on there. I paid a really low discounted price for a hotel in March for December and it's coming up cheaper in this sale so considering there is less availability there are some good prices. On top of some other coupons they usually run this looks good for those booking some summer holidays.

  • How do you know there 40% off I did a search, and same prices as yesterday? Is there a code word?

    • It's not all hotels and it's up to 40% off. Still some good deals out there.

Its a misleading sale which mention "up to 40% off". This is a normal strategy to allow customer to think they are saving lots of money.

    • Yeah. I still found some good deals on the site though.

I suggest you try website like tripadvisor, wego, trivago etc… To compare hotel prices during that time then search for a valid voucher which can further reduce the prices.

        • I scaled every single hotel site when I booked my hotel.

Just out of curiosity could you please tell me the
          Hotel:
          Dates:
          Price: (New Price)

          That you booked on Hotels.com
I want to compare the difference between other booking sites

  • No saving on any of the hotels i have searched, its almost $100 extra if i book a hotel im interested in Hotels.com compared to CheapTickets.com with the 20% Off Coupon.

Do you know if there is a coupon for the 40% off?

In the last couple of weeks I've booked 9 hotels across Taiwan and Japan, all on Agoda, I thought I'd check out this site, just to compare, none of them were cheaper than what I'd already booked through Agoda.

This doesn't seem like much of a deal to me unless there's some code I'm missing?

"Save up to 40%" is just an advertising to attract people to their website. All other similar websites tell how much saving you get when use their sites.
In this particular instance you don't get to save anything compared to regular prices.

I work in the hotel software industry.

Hotels have 2 main rates "RACK rate" and "Best Available Rate (BAR)"

Think of RACK rate as the same thing as RRP on items. It never actually sells for the RACK price…this is just the highest theoretical price for this room type. BAR is almost always 10-40% lower…i've even seen cases where the BAR rate is up to 80% discounted.

It's just a gimmick to say "Get 40% off" and show those high prices with the big slashes through them that every consumer loves.
