      I did not know. Why is melamine plates etc. not safe to eat from?

      Plenty of the china type plates, bowls, mugs, if you do not mind paying more.

    Melamine is perfectly safe to eat off. But it will get hot in a microwave, so avoid microwaving it.

    Melamine laminate is used for toddler plates because it is almost indestructible.

    • In summary of that article, perfectly ok to eat off, just don't microwave
