  • about $150 return is pretty good.

  • Is that AEST? to local time in malaysia?

  • 00.01 local time malaysia. So its 02:01 AEST (Melbourne/sydney time)

  • Ok. back to bed. Thanks.

  • I can't see the $99 flights. Is there any way to check which flights are still available?

    • Yeah they are there. Plenty for Wednesday, Thursdays and Sundays in February.

  • I can't see these flights either using Adioso for Dec 09 - Apr 10 hopefully later in the day it's updated.

  • I don't see these flights either. It is a pain there is no way to compare all flights with different dates with prices.

    • So only one flight left leaving for $99? Bugger!!

      • theres more. air asia isn't showing them all. I couldnt find any in January - looks like the earliest ones next year are scattered throughout feb.

        • Yeah I was looking for School Holiday flights in January too. D'oh!

I would love if Airasia fly Sydney. I'm sure it's worth the investment for them to get on Sydney market.

    • Agree.
I read the news somewhere that AirAsia did applied for KUL-SYD route approval but it was somehow rejected by Malaysia government. Maybe some sort of pressure from somewhere.
Personally I don't see any reason why they rejected the most in-demand route between KUL and Australia.

      • Yeah, rejected by the Malayasian government over a dispute between Airasia and the Airports (outstanding money due). So its just political which is a big shame.

        • Shame. Hope the syd-KUL route is approved in the near future. It will surely benefit for Malaysia (gov and Airasia).

Heaps of Melb to KL flights available in February
Heaps of KL to Melb flights available Feb and March.

Just booked, $99 Mel to KL, and around $50 KL to MEL if you book via the Malaysian site and pay in RM.

  • Just booked for February. This is a good find for Chinese descendant malaysian/singapore/indonesian who want to spend chinese holiday with family.

Just book my self mid February. $196 total all included (meal, Comfort kit, bagage insurance and everything)

  • These are disappearing fast, though still a good chunk left.

I just pushed adioso to find the remaining cheap days:
    http://adioso.com/au/mel-to-kul.html

(May get a bit out of date fairly quickly as they're disappearing so rapidly).

    Good luck/happy hunting!

    Fenn.

  • with these how practical is it to fly to melb from sydney then fly to KL?

As long as you fly into Tullamarine Airport (Qantas, Virgin Blue, Tiger) and not Avalon (Jetstar) its no problem at all.

  • Remember http://airasiaplus.com/ in addition to Adioso.

  • .

  • there are still lots of $99 flights left, booked early yesterday morning during school holiday period in January, back just before school start for family of 4. good deal at $99, all up was $900 including meals, luggage and seats booking.

  • Attention Air Asia customers: If your flight is delayed (more than 3 hours?) you can get $80 'credit shell' compensation - good!

Not good is that you can only use it to pay for baggage, meals, etc, as you have to redeem it over the phone - flights booked over the phone are limited to non-promotional flights. So if you used the credit for one of these flights you would end up paying for more than the internet price.

Just thought some of you might be interested :)

    • Firstly, it's 2 or more hours delayed entitled you for the compensation, provide that they did not inform you via SMS/email up to 24 hrs before departure.

The voucher will be sent to you in the email. It is valid for 3 months from the date of departure. And you can use it for anything even when paying flights online as one of the mode of pay is via vouchers. Please take note of this.

      Cheers.
