bundle it with air asia flights from oz to get a cheap europe return.
the beauty of this deal is its available for flights in a couple of weeks time and maybe sooner.
the brunei air deal requires about a month or so before you fly.
also since MA fly direct to frankfurt its a very quick flight from oz.
london fare isnt that cheap and of course theres always a small chance your flight might disapear!

i found this deal at skyscanner.
sta travel were quoting me 2k for europe trips and the assistant gave me dirty looks when i asked him to try europe returns from kl/singapore with airasia links. less comission i guess.

note skyscanner says $905 aud but when you go to pay in aus currency its $954.
maybe u cud avoid this with a 6degrees card?

Not sure I could trust Malaysian Airlines.

  • pay return price for single way?

    • You only need to book one way

      • If you only book one way the leg is a lot more expensive.
        Easily checked.

  • If you were thinking of going to Europe how about this deal?

    • Yeah thats the one i mentioned but you need to book it a month or so ahead. The MA one can be booked about 2 weeks aay or less if ts a short notice flight.

  • But does Malaysian fly from the LCC terminal? If you fly AirAsia, it flys into this airport, not the main KL airport. Anyone know how much it costs to go from LCC terminal to main international?

    • No, Malaysia Airlines is not a low cost carrier so it flies to the main KLIA.

AirAsia now flies into the new LCC terminal known as KLIA2 (Opened May 2014) and not the rundown LCCT.
      See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klia2

Costs about $1 and is only a few minutes, did this a few weeks ago. Please note there is no LCC terminal anymore. AirAisia flies from the brand new (and very nice) KLIA2 terminal. So transfers between KLIA (the main international airport) and KLIA2 are only one stop per airport train and you can take your luggage cart all the way up to the platform. Obviously, you do have to collect your luggage first and have to think about possible flight delays so would recommend staying the night at KL.

      • Thank god. The LCCT was a total shithole.

  • Found MH370?

    • Why the downvote? It's a fair question.

  • That Royal Brunei cheap winter promo ended on June 30, you will find most are now around $2000. There is an odd week where you will find a fare for about $1470.
Might be worth investigating getting to BKK and going with Norwegian Air or Finnair. Emirates will do a fare from BKK to multi European cities and return to Melbourne .
Am intrigued with 08.55 economy departure from BKK to Fra and business class return from another city to BKK with Finnair for 1900. You can get good night's sleep that way.

    • Yeah theres some ok mirates one way flights from asia to europe available.
I wasnt keen on the el cheapo vietnam airlines (tiny seats), srilankan airlines ot jetaboard with 18hrs waiting in mumbai.

I recently tried to purchase a MAS promo ticket from their website (7 July). Put all the details in but kept getting an error and to check my details and resubmit. In the end I thought it was a website issue. Later that day, my wife tried to purchase the same flight and it was all good. So I thought the website was back up and running. I then went to enter my details and got the same error. Strange I thought. So I called their international support number. Spoke to Ranie whom advised to try this other website www.flymas.mobi. Interestingly that flight was 3 times the price of what's advertised on www.malaysiaairlines.com. So I asked the question, why are the flight on one website more than the other? They told me that this website may be slow in refreshing ticket prices. Anyways, I gave up on the idea and lodged a claim to resvns to get a refund for my wife's ticket seeing I couldn't purchase my ticket. It was refused. Later that night, out of curiosity, I entered my details for the same flight (as before) but at the updated previously price baiting fare and guess what … it worked. Sounds like, if my passport/name or whatever detail checking that MAS does, that the website is selective as to whom is eligible for the promotional fare. So not only are flights disappearing but they are selective as to whom can purchase at their promotional rate.

    Sharing is Caring.

    • Sounds like conspiracy stuff to me.
Its possible they were restricting cheap tix to locals / local net addresses but by name?
Did you try entering random names to test theory.
Maybe it as a browser issue?
I often have trouble with forms on ipad vs pc

  • Thank you! Just bought flights for the start/end of September for a trip I have planned.

Booked 2 Air Asia flights to get to KL and back from KL to Melb and I'm all set.
