wk

Easyusenet is celebrating the Netherlands coming 3rd in the world cup with 50% off all plans and packages.
Discount is once off, so buy as much time as you need today.
They have other plans, but the night plan is the best value because it lines up perfectly with our day time.

'Night plan' (9am - 1am AEST)
30mbps - $3.30 per month (was 4.50 euro)
30mbps - 1 year subscription $2.45 per month!

All accounts are unlimited and have 900 days of retention. Prices are converted from euro at the current exchange rate, so actual prices will be more slightly more expensive based on your cc exchange rate. Discounts are even greater for longer terms, up to 2 years. There's a 5 day free trial if you want to test it out.

Valid for new and existing subscribers.

  • How much would the discount be if Netherlands won the world cup?

You got the $3.30 by converting from Euros. What was the Euro price?

Is it half price for all plans or just some? If you go for single month recurring plans, will the 50% off only apply for the first month, or for every month until you cancel?

Is the 9am to 1am 'night' plan based on AEST or Netherlands time?

Some more info would be nice.

you ask a lot of questions.

      • +4

You don't provide a lot of answers.

check the OP. I made those revisions for you lostn. All for you.

  • EasyUseNet is a XSNews reseller for anyone that is interested.

    • +1

From my experience, XSNews is the best. But don't tell anyone.

I might be interested in this, but the website is pretty awful. There's no indication of currency, or timezones, the FAQ page doesn't seem to exist, and most pages haven't been translated into english. I hate to think what their english language support (if it exists) would be like.

BTW, are you sure 9am to 1am is correct for the 'night' plan? The plan page seems to indicate 01:00 to 16:00, a gap of 9 hours where it will be inactive.

    • The website caters to people in the netherlands, thus the nl extension. I and several others have used it, and its been pretty good. This price is brilliant for what you get. The 9 hours it is inactive for are generally when people are asleep, so you're not going to miss it unless you have a computer setup to download 24-7
The time conversion is just a rough guess. 01:00 to 16:00 is netherlands time. In any case it will fluctuate with daylight saving time

  • I've nearly joined xs a few times but I've always been put off by a couple of things as well as the lack of replies and support on their fb page so hopefully this is a good alternative.

Anyone know if the special price will carry over for the life of the account if you select yearly? Most other providers normally do but it'd be nice to know for sure.

    • Doubt it, but chances are there will be another discount at christmas or easter

    What is this?

If you have to ask then you don't need it :)

  • is their site in meltdown? can't pay can't login to a new account.
    spaz overted

  • will they be upset if you hit 1-1.5 tb as some 'unlimited' providers cause issues if you go too far

    • What ISP do you use that you're hammering 1-1.5TB per month? And how do you find that much stuff to download each month? That's seriously impressive.

      • not always that much but sometimes
        i use tpg unlimited 1.7Mb/sec
i enjoy Bluray iso, x360 iso, 1080p tv shows, pc games

        • No doubt as a backup for software you already purchased of course.

@thelastnoob: Tell me about it. I take my games there accidentally all the time!

  • been using them for the past year until my subscription ran out a few months ago. Didn't bother updating my subscription because I can't see the difference between them and Astraweb. Everything Astraweb didn't have, easyusenet didn't have either. I'm not a heavy USENET user so I generally prefer block accounts but if you are, $2.45 per month is good value.

  • That was interesting sign-up experience. Wondering how long it takes for the account to be activated - the payment went through on my credit card but haven't heard anything back yet.

  • 900 days retention is low by today's standards. My provider is 2000+ days. I think most of the major providers are similar.

Lot of stuff I download is well over 1000 days old as reposters adjust to the longer retention rates of most providers.

Short story is, check age of the stuff you download to make sure the 900 days is good enough.

Not sure why I was negged for just pointing out the retention rate.

I have nothing against the deal - just wanted people to be aware in case they are used to downloading older stuff with some of the other providers.

I just added another year to my subscription. I've been with them for over a year now.

I've got the 30mbit night time account. 900 days retention is ok, but generally with the stuff I'm after, if you don't get it within a day or 2 max, its gone anyway!
