My Scans, PDF Document Scanner for Android - $5.99 Pro Version Is Free Today with App of The Day

290
APPOFTHEDAY

The Pro version of My Scans without any ads and watermark on the generated PDF files normally costs $5.99 is free with App of the day today on Play store. You need to download it through App of the day app to unlock the pro version features. To get the pro version for free just download the app through the App of the day app and open it.

It has 4 start rating on the play store. It may not be as good as the Cam Scanner but it's free for lifetime and you don't need to worry about the ads or watermark on your PDF anymore.

  • I will try this.

  • i never understood those "scanner" apps, dont they just convert the picture taken into a PDF that's it?!

If it's a good one, it distorts the picture from the camera into a useable scanned document. Auto detects where the paper starts and ends so it crops out the background and replaces it with black etc.

    • It auto adjust the photo of the document for you.

Eg it detects the boarder of the page, detects the angle your holding the camera at and adjusts it automatically so that the end product looks like you scanned it.

Imagine actually taking a photo of a piece of paper and getting your shadow out of the way, getting the document perfectly smack bang and straight in the middle of the shot and so on. Not to mention your phone will probably have a wider form factor than an a4 sheet of paper and you'll have to manually crop the edges out otherwise.

Some of them also work well to get creases out of the paper and adjust any shadows or irregularities in lighting.

    • cool, i see…thanks :)

Some companies like banks and government agents only
    accept PDFs but not photos.
That is the only usage I found out until now.

I have tried a bunch of these scanner apps. I think the best one is just google drive, it does OCR now and you can set a shortcut that when you open it takes the picture, crops then uploads to which ever folder you choose.

Cool, I've been using Camscanner but if Google drive does OCR that's even better. Thanks, will try it out!

  • I installed it from the app store and inside the app there is still an option to 'upgrade to pro'

Then tried downloading the app of the day app, got to the scanning up via that and it said I already had it installed.

Scanner app still has an upgrade to pro option. Am I missing something or do I have to delete the app and start again from the app of the day app?

(I normally use ios so android isn't that familiar to me).

I would say you might have to re-download it using the app of the day app. I got negatives votes for saying this before but it has been the case with many of the appoftheday apps previously.

      • Seems to have worked. Thanks

You have to uninstall and download the app through app of the day. Once you install it and open it you will see a message at the bottom saying all the pro features are unlocked now. The message appears only for few seconds.

Even though the pro features are unlocked for me it is still showing me the Upgrade to pro option in the help section. I just ignored it anyway as it is a broken link pointing to iTunes.

To test if you have a pro version or not just generate a pdf and see if there is a watermark.

If it doesnt have great O.C.R (Optical character recognition) whats the point?

  • Works when you download it via the app of the day app. just did it then

I use camscanner to scan receipts that I need for warranty, then upload them to drop box and link them to the budget if I ever need to make a claim.

That's just one use without OCR.

  • Any way to make the magic work on iOS?

  • Tried. Like it, but not as much as CamScanner. My scans does not have options for me to change storage location nor can I save the files on their "cloud"
