$200 Visa Card When Signing up for Telstra Broadband Bundles

40

a few terms and conditions.
better than the recent $200 jb hifi deal.
note they may not send you the card and you may have to call them up to hassle them for it.
telstra may not be the cheapest net provider around and i suspect they jack up prices when they offer these deals.
may be of use to someone though.

not worth it in any way

    I 'd second that.
Last I checked on these bundles (which admittedly won't be often) for anything remotely efficient, possibly a 2mbit symmetric 200gb - $200 would barely offset one month.. .200 off 3.8k !

wow- super duper redic pricing- I thought those prices include foxtel as well!!

    • I do like the $20/mth extra for 100mbit over the 'default' 30mbit for cable customers, sigh.

Managed to get the price down to $80/month, asked for $50 welcome credit, a free T Hub 2 and a free modem, no activation fee or anything else, plus this $200 Visa card, do all these qualify for a bargain deal?

      Which bundle?

      • Global bundle, a recent deal just came out few weeks ago

        • How did you get this? Last time I tried to get a discount they wouldn't budge.

@fredblogs: the only hint that I can give to you is keep trying, I was finally able to get to deal in my 6th call.

        • @cqflq212: So I called them on 1800993728. Was offered a $10 discount pretty easily but she said "no way we can offer a $20 discount, that could only come from an outbound call". I'm guessing you would dispute that? :) Wish I could get them to call me…

Not worth it at all. I went back to optus and got the 115 unlimited pack with unlimited cable, phone and it includes the fetch tv which is really good. I have my mobile with Vodafone and are very happy with them but if I ever change it will be to optus and then I will get a further discount off the entertainment pack, down to 104 I believe!
Consider Optus, they are very fast, and unlimited? wow! - and with kids and ipads, laptops, phones, tv's - it is necessary these days! - I just converted my sister from over 20 years with Telstra over to Optus and she is stoked, she has not had to ring them once since installation (which was a regular event with telstra) and is enjoying the fast speeds and extra tv channels for her kid and hubby

      Nice try, Optus Marketing Manager

omg really? lol ooowwwaaaa no I am not, its me Penthius, normal Mum lol

    • +1

why does this read so much like a fake review?

    • Sounds like you converted her from adsl to cable, in which case less frequent calls to ANY cable provider would be the norm.

      • +1

oh you might be right Lukian, she had the t hub thing I know that.
I didnt mean my post to come off fake sounding or reviewerish lol - just happy to finally not have to worry about reaching the limits and slow speeds etc, I homeschool too so the kids are home 24/7 with ipads and everything, so another words we use it ALOT - sorry - i just should have left it at its good lol

        • Why do you homeschool? (sorry is this getting off topic)

        • @fredblogs: Dept of Ed failed in their Duty of Care for 1 child and he has a severe disability as a result and after 2 rounds of 18 months waiting they failed to find a school placement for the other child (long story there was actually plenty of school placements in the area but we were being targeted/mis treated as a result of the 1st child's case) . It was years worth of battling with the Dept of Ed but it has been the best outcome for us. 500% improvement!

  • I wish optus was at my exchange,but like most exchanges we are dictated to by telstra :{

Ah what! they removed the extra 500MB ipad sim card with the deals… at the same price. BOOOO!

not worth. my telstra bundle is 200Gb with home phone and is paying $80 only. They increased the price too much

    • Yeah, $78 for phone line rental and 100mbit cable 200GB here. Now to attempt to move the plan to my new address..

  • My heart was broken when I saw the deal, as I sign up with them 3 weeks ago for $113 (cable + phone) and only received a iconic $40 voucher (which I have to fight for).
Then when I check the new pricing, same plan now cost $150?
(Although now they includes unlimited calls however I made most of my calls on my mobile and I only pay less than $3 monthly on calls).
    Now I am relief.

  • If those bastards would connect cable internet from the street to our townhouse, I'd happily pay $150 a month for it since I'm stuck on ADSL 2+ with 2-3 Mb/s.

  • Rang telstra they offered me Cable internet 30MB 100GB + phone and local calls, $80 per month, Free modem free connection free instalation, I told her people have got better deals i told her i wanted 100mb 200gb + phone $80 per month, She said if i get a service ID number from some one who has that she said i can also get that too, She needs a Service ID number for proof, If someone like cqflq212 , whatadeal or lukian or some one with this plan can private messge me there service ID number that would be ULTRA AWESOME! P.S its my birthday in 5 days :) I want cable!!! sick of adsl2+ from iprimus.

  • Nevermind rang pretty easy $80pm cable 200gb + phone line free installation free modem free connection fee + $200 visa

    • How did you do it?? they always tell me no!

    • Can you share your service ID, so that I can try to get the same deal?

    • Trying to get the $80pm global bundle deal too. I could only get the $10 off making it $90pm. Telstra said it was an invitation only offer to get the $80 deal. Any chance of sharing your service ID too? ;)

    • How did you get that? I tried & the best cable 200gb with basic ph line (no calls included) was offered at $93 - she even spoke to her manager & said they could not discount it at all :(

  • I called on 1800 305 845 couple of times on 6/8/2014. Telstra was not ready to reduce anything at all, only ready to waive off 59$ activation fee. But mentioned that connection fee will be charged which may go upto 295$. maxpower11, can you tell me which number you dialed. However, they were ready to give the same plan if one knows the number which has got 80$ deal.
